This series isn't as good as rhe Jacky Leon series, which is a real disappointment.
I just do not find the MC relateable. She isn't a likeable character. But she is a confused one as evidenced by the surplus of internal monologuing.
Also, for someone who is supposed to be a trained assassin used to working on her own, she ends up being rescued quite a number of times.
The conversations between Kaliya and Raphael were cringe inducing. Chemistry between them is lacking, despite the obligatory sex scene at the end.
I enjoy the world the author had built along with many of the secondary characters. At this point, I will stick to the Jacky Leon series.
