How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Had trouble putting the book down, I was waiting to see what happens next. Characters remained strong and they pushed the envelope with some of their involvement.

3.0 out of 5 starsMaybe it would be better as a movie.

I almost never say something like this, but in this case, there were just too many points of view in each chapter. Although I applaud the effort to provide a story that isn’t one dimensional, I found the shift from one point of view to another to be quite jarring, and it made it difficult for me to stay in the story. As a result, I found myself setting the story down after a few pages. That being said, the story line is good, and it would be great to see this on the big screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Going On - So Much Going Wrong!
Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2020
Another pretty short, but straight-forward book in this lengthening series. The USS Morrigan is making repairs and trying to figure out where to go next. They have a few leads, but nothing solid. Meanwhile, Rita Peck and Erris, the MerCon executive are still on their mission to find information about who and why the Confederation abandoned the Frontier and if it was because of the Ervas. The Ervas is the enemy the Confed and the Gold Empire are or should be fighting together.

And, then there’s the situation with Captain Oliver Peck, Rita’s brother who was left on an unnamed planet over which the USS Morrigan, the Gold Empire and the ervas fought a significant battle. He was thought to have died when ejected from a downed pirate vessel, but obvious not. He was also with a VIP of the Gold Empire, a Doctor Meredith Lyson who had been captured by the pirates. Both were now just trying to survive. They though the planet was totally uninhabited, but were to find out later, that wasn’t the case. Unfortunately, the other people on this planet weren’t friendly survivors!

So, while the USS Morrigan was figuring out where to go next, a flotilla of Gold Empire ships jumped into their vicinity. Instead of just firing immediately, the asked for Captain Merkel. Surprisingly, they wanted to team up and together attack a secret lab that contained a lot of information about the ervas. Captain Merkel has no reason to trust these Gold Empire Captains, but they told a convincing story and led him to believe that two of their ships would accompany the Morrigan in the attack on the lab. It was thought that the lab was unarmed, so there shouldn’t even be any fighting. Of course, that was totally wrong!

Again, another good book in a very good series. Things kind of start to straighten out towards the end of the book, but then things go sour real quickly and we’re left with a good “cliff-hanger” for an ending. I’ll be reading the next book real soon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing series definitely worth reading
Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2020
Intriguing series definitely worth reading, even if not the author’s best series, because of some interesting inclusions such as a series of “war dogs”, which are human brains specially modified and incorporated into robot bodies and programmed to be superior military strategists and a couple of experimental solders whose abilities have been boosted by having them take an addictive drug. Also interesting is the competition among shifting interests, combinations and alliances among various organizations of humans versus each other and a mysterious threatening invading alien species.

Unfortunately, none of the characters seemed all that interesting or appealing to me and there are too many intertwining plot lines occurring simultaneously to develop any strong momentum

Still the series is definitely worth reading and I am enjoying it as I proceed thru it.

John V
3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of loose ends
Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2020
He ended the last book with his signature cliffhangers , yet had cleared a clear enough vision to follow. Now more people employed with all avenues left hanging with clear and present danger. Of course leading to move books. As always his characters are engaging and the plot interesting, but at least one storyline has a bit of closure leaving you wanting for more while left with several hanging threads to see what happens. This time they are all left hanging. I'm looking forward to seeing how he pulls this off, if he does. Here's to hope that in me springs eternal.

Congratulations to John Walker for this amazing series. It’s difficult to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
