To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
A couple big disadvantages from just immediately setting it up. It has a VERY short power cord. You definitely need to know this when purchasing. It barely reaches the floor from a 3' desk. It will affect where you can set up regardless of using a power cord.
No input button on the remote!!!! If you intend to use this for gaming or anything other than its smart TV services you'll be getting your exercise. What freaking year is it? Did EA make this and take away a feature so they can add a "new" feature next year?
This item was sold by BestBuy via Amazon. I was replacing a smaller TV with this one. The old television worked fine without an pixelating. When I turned on the Toshiba it would pixelated every 30 seconds or so with the problem getting better after 30 minutes or so.
I called tech support and they had me reboot the television. This did not help. Their response was that I had a poor OTA signal and suggested I turn antenna. I have a large roof antenna so turning is not a simple task so instead I replaced the cable from the television from the wall to the tv. Still a problem.
The antenna has a booster at the antenna and then feeds one two way splitter. The other TV does not have a problem. I moved the new TV and connected it directly to the antenna feed. Still had a problem.
I ordered and installed a powered splitter. No signal to either: over powered signal. Removed powered splitter.
Called tech support and this time did a reboot and rescan channels. Still had the problem. Tech support said I could take the TV back to BestBuy for a refund or exchange. I asked if a confirmation number was needed. He said no. So here I go BestBuy just after Christmas for an exchange. Now they tell me no they cannot accept it because I most cancel through Amazon first.
A very time consuming and expensive experience.
While I was there I picked up a LG 32LM62. Worked perfect.
Very difficult to find a channel. The is no number pad so the only way to get to channel 90 is to scroll through 89 other channels. How dumb is that! Yes you can set favorite channels but you have to go back to the menu system. You can't just press a button while on the channel you like. Contrary to what one responder said you can't tell the remote to go to "go to channel 90". That simply doesn't work. Plus you can't name the channels like ABC, CNN, MSNBC etc. If you could maybe "go to CNN" would work. But you can't. So all in all it's a looser.
If I'm wrong about any of this please let me know. It might make things easier.
Bought this and a similar 24" at the same time as a Prime Monday deal. The 24" was DOA and returned. Wifi lasted a little over a month on this one. 'Unable to connect.. Yada.. Yada.' After trying all the obvious remedies with no success, a quick trip over to the search engine revealed many, many complaints describing the exact problem. Several responses by BB reps to those complaints as well as other comments from other customers leads me to conclude that it happens frequently and can only be remedied by a technician. Disappointing. Not really worth the hassle to take it in or send it back (already tossed the box) . I guess I'll redeploy it as a computer monitor.
The TV itself is great, however there are NO buttons to use if the remote stops working. I got my TV on the 13th. It is now the 18th and my remote stopped working out of the blue and nothing I have tried is fixing it. Now I have to wait two days to see if they will send a replacement. Which they should since it stopped working in 5 days and now I cant use the TV I just bought. 😭
purchased about 6 months. Wanted to give it a chance. Remote has been flaky most of the time. Loosing connectivity. Batteries die in a few weeks. Tried to get a replacement from Toshiba, their solution use the android firestick app to control tv. Plugged Sonos speaker into ARC HDMI and won't connect. Same cable and speaker with with another ARC HDMI enabled TV. Again, tech resolution is to use the optical audio cause they don't support speakers on HDMR ARC. I'm sure I have have a flaky TV, but their support suggestions are work arounds instead of repair/replace.
Very easy setup Although the remote stopped working after 3 days. I put new batteries in it and it works again..... for three days! I’ve tested the batteries on a meter and they are in good condition so it’s the simple act of removal and replacement that gets it working again. I have requested a new remote with no response as yet!
I realize you get what you paid for but this TV is a piece of garbage. I was not expecting huge picture quality since it is only a 720P, however the other negatives make this a think hard before you buy review.
The remote constantly says the batteries are low despite changing them twice. The remote constantly loses it's connection to the TV and has to be retuned to the TV. Even when it is connected it takes multiple tries to get the remote to do anything.
Lastly, you cannot turn the tv on and have it come up on the last HDMI port you were on. With the remote issues this makes something simple like turning on the TV into a minor ordeal.
From the purchase 5 months ago this tv has freeze frames for a couple seconds about 10 or 15 times an hour making watching tv very difficult. Don't buy this tv unless you have Wi-Fi and Amazon account. It would make a great computer monitor. The remote is not user friendly. You must download the user manual. After several troubleshooting calls to tech I am ready to take it to BestBuy for a refund or suitable substitute. I am an electronics technician and I cant fix it. I suspect it is continually trying to pair with the remote or Wi-Fi.
I struggled so much with the set-up of this item that I don't even know where to begin. In 2020, anything that demands that much time to set up and operate is powerless. Yep, it's called set-up 101 for dummies. and even that didn't help.
