Perfect mat but with ONE flaw...

Let me preface this review by saying that I absolutely LOVE this mat. Considering the size and quality, it’s WELL worth the price. You may be asking yourself, “So then why didn’t you give it 5 stars?!” If you take a look at any of the photos other reviewers posted you may notice that the alphabet ends with “...W...Y...X...Z” Now, I realize that isn’t a HUGE deal but it is the absolute first thing I noticed when I looked through each of the letters and the animal associated with it. I guess I just assumed that I wouldn’t have to double check them prior to ordering! In any case, this really is a great mat and I recommend it to anyone who isn’t a perfectionist!

Nice enough but misleading pictures had me fooled

It seems lightweight and portable. It is also easy to clean. It is not smelly like the other playmat we have. The thickness and the (lack of) protection are what worry me. Out other playmate is much more reassuring in terms of the thickness and feel of the material. This is less pliable than our other mat and much thinner.

Though it is my fault that I didn't read through the "Technical Details" where it does state that the mat is only 0.5 inches thick. It's interesting that this number is not in their description but there is a picture claiming its much thicker than the competition. That picture is of the mat folded up all the way and is very misleading. The 0.5 inches is also not all over. Because of the way it folds, where are patches where it is much thinner and without padding.
I'm not sure I would buy again and the only reason I bought this was because we got their play yard.

The colors are not bright and it is not easy to see the animals in anything less than really bright lights. An issue (though it might be only for us since our kid loves dogs) is that the dog is more like a fox than the fox on the mat itself.

The embossed letters in certain places and the "raised grips" catch the baby's eye and he tries to eat it. he hasnt been successful, but will update if he succeeds in tearing out chunks.

Update: 18 month old slid superyard playard over the edges of the mat and started biting off chunks of the mat. Not safe. Will no longer use or recommend. Requesting return/refund.

I really like the look of this. It’s super cute. It’s just not as durable as I’d hoped/expected from this company. We’ve only had this a short time, and the top of it has already ripped open in one spot. For the price I paid, that’s disappointing. It would be nice if they made it much more durable especially with the high price tag OR sold it for much less $ with it’s current non-durable/non-lasting materials.

Was looking for a foldable play mat for my 5 month old. This was the only one I could find that I actually liked the design. I already have a large reliable one in my babys room but wanted something that I could fold away when needed. This mat is so light and very soft. I was afraid that being so light it would not provide enough protection but it does. The design is so cute and my baby immediately took notice of it. Also as soon as I put my baby on it he scooted in a circle for the very first time and the mat did not budge at all. I highly recommend this product.

Slippery - Trouble for Babies Learning to Stand/Walk

This is a nice quality mat, but the material is not ideal for babies/toddlers learning to stand/walk. The mat is slippery, where I hoped it would have some grip to it. We have to be very cautious as our little one is trying to stand and we cannot allow him to do so on his own when in the play pen on this mat. Overall disappointed with the purchase.

Have you ever spent tons of time researching and reading reviews only to finally make a decision that you feel good about and then feel disappointed when you see the item?

That was me with this purchase. It only has a usable play surface on one side unlike other similar items. After seeing the playmat it seems like this would cause it to wear out faster. It also makes it feel less sturdy. It also shows a picture and says it is “twice as thick” as the competition but it isn’t really. I ended up returning this item and purchasing the Regalo play mat instead. Before returning this one though I compared them side by side. They are exactly the same thickness. This one appears thicker because it folds into a smaller bag. Which is actually the one positive I had for this. I do like the size of the carrying bag for it.

I think for the price you are better off finding another option. It kind of felt like a rip off

Awesome mat. Our 10 month is starting to crawl and try to stand up and we wanted something to help avoid him hurting himself from trips or falls. This is perfect, not too big or small. Perfect size. Easily foldable and looks durable, time will tell, but it does look promising. Very happy with my purchase.

Perfect IF Used Under Existing Rug

I was super disappointed with the mat as the back looked like cheap foam, used on its own I feel like a baby would destroy it quickly.

Husband thought it would be better to put it under our rug so I tried it. It works perfectly this way, it gives cushion, so when the baby falls he no longer cries. I don't have to worry about it being destroyed because it is protected and we will get long lasting use this way.

I don't recommend buying this unless you put it under your rug.

I absolutely love this mat, fits perfectly to the northstate playyard. Love the fact that you can fold it and it has enough cushion for when children fall and has grip to walk! A little expensive but worth it!

I really like this mat. It’s aesthetically pleasing and it support letter recognition/sounds as he gets older. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is it be double sided. I’ve only had it set up a day, but it’s been perfect for the playroom I created for my son, and he loves rolling around on it. Yes it’s only about 1/2 inch thick, but it’s very supportive. My 11 month old has no qualms falling on it as he’s learning to walk. Time will tell for durability, but I have high hopes. Just in case though, I am keeping my animals off it it.
