All in all I really loved all the stories as they range from hauntings to bizarro horror! Out of all the stories only three authors I have read before and everyone else is new to me. I will be pursuing the new authors as it seems there are quite a few books out by some of them. I am always impressed by author, Kevin J. Kennedy as he is able to bring together some amazing authors in all of his anthologies and I have always found new authors to explore by just reading his books. Giving this book five "Fun Filled Spooky" stars!
Consistency, variety, great authors, and a ton of entertainment is what we get each and every time Kevin published one of his horror anthologies. This is the 7th book in The Horror Collection series and is probably one of my favorites. The concepts for each story varied and ran the gamut from a haunting to a visit with demons from hell and all kinds of unimaginable scenarios in-between. You get a little bit of everything when you open up one of Kevin's publications. In this edition you get 7 great stories by some very talented independent authors.
Included within these pages are: “The House in the Ground” by Christian Laforet, “Satan’s Apocalypse” by Kevin J. Kennedy, “In A Pale, Rainy Morning” by Ramsey Campbell & Nicola Lombardi, “Haunting at Stump Lake” by Mark Allan Gunnells, “Road Rage Revenge” by Veronica Smith, “Tendrils” by Steve Stred, “Radiator Demon - Bitches of Hell” by Zoltan Komor.
Between these pages, you will find tales of hauntings, revenge, parasitic entities, struggles during the apocalypse and a bizarro version of hell.
The Horror Collection: Emerald Edition is the seventh book in the Horror Collection Series, and what a fun collection this one was!
If you haven’t checked this series out yet, and you enjoy horror of any type, I highly recommend that you add this to your TBR right away!
Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.
This one was another home run for me! I had so much fun reading this as I loved each of the unsettling tales! Yet again, there are tales for everyone in here from pure horror to simply odd horror, to even the heartwarming spooky tale.
If you enjoy classical, well written horror without the need for modern gore, then this the book for you. Add a relaxing chair and glass of something you fancy and you are in for an enjoyable evening of reading.
