This novella is listed as number six in the series, yet it takes place between four and five. This would be fine, except this is not explained. You realize it after a while when you notice that none of the events or characters from five are mentioned. The second problem with the story is the length. I would call it a novella, or a long short story, rather than a book. Once again, this would be ok, but it would be better if the description had stated that it was a novella. The story itself is a little murder mystery. It is fun because it is Murderbot and his friends, but there is not much to it. It is a little disappointing after Network Effect, which was a wonderful addition to the series, but it is still entertaining to read.
