A great beginning to a new paranormal series. Carrow has lived her whole life on the outskirts of life. Connecting to no one and barely getting by. She has a special gift however. Whenever she touches something or someone, she can sense a past, present, or future related to that object or person. Carrow knows this makes her strange and different from everyone else and she has tried to hide her strange power from almost everyone. There are only a few who know of her special power and they are either fearful or don't understand how she does it but then, neither does she. When her best friend is savagely murdered, she is determined to find out who did it but, whenever she is forewarned of a new impending death, she always arrives too late to stop it. The fact that she has been found at several of the murder scenes makes the police suspicious and, when the latest body turns up, she is arrested for the murder. Corrigan, her one friend on the police force, knows she is innocent, and knowing that she can help him catch the real killer, arranges to help her escape. On the run, she takes the matchbook she recovered from the body of the latest victim and invoking her power, uses it to track down a hard to find, shabby little bar. She doesn't know it but that little bar is her entry into a whole new magical world where anything is possible and her whole life is about to change forever. I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the beginning of a new series by Linsey Hall and can't wait to begin the second.
