Something about this series just didn’t do it for me. I think the world building between series is cool. I like that things are happening in tandem and all that but there are so many unanswered questions from both Sentinel series that I’m sure that the ball will drop and we won’t have answers to them all.
I also felt like the vow thing wasn’t explained well. They killed the Sentinels but some people still took the vow and a Gryphon was controlling them??? I don’t know maybe that is wrong. How do they get sentinel markings from the vow if the sentinels are either dead or in hiding??? Also did the sentinels kill Zeph’s family or was it Lassa’s family. We’re Lassa , Ryn, Zeph, and Treno tortured by Treno’s parents??? That was mentioned at one point but never talked about again. I also felt like understanding what happens when Falon and her gryphon communicate to each other is hard to follow. Sometimes I’m not sure who is leading and it was never explained why they aren’t one and the same. Why is her griffin separate from her but they are in the same body??? Ryn’s and Zeph’s aren’t like that but Treno’s is???? Also by the end of this series she reads so young. She whines a ton and is always so wrapped up in crying over something that it’s hard to take her serious in other parts. I felt like Vinna read like this as well so maybe it is just the way the author tries to write badass yet damaged females. I never really thought Falon was much of a badass to begin with. I mean it starts with her riding a Ducati and trying to dominate some dude in a one night stand but that’s where the badassery stops. When she started training and took to it so easily it just didn’t really feel like it fit the character.
So a quick series but lots of unanswered questions that we have to wait to find answers for and a few plot holes. Guess we are waiting for the next sentinel series but who knows how long that will be.
