Brilliant show for curious preschoolers: problem-solving, exploration, observation, experimentation, and beautiful animation
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2016
This show is brilliant for preschoolers and the animation is gorgeous and inventive. The story lines are all science and exploration-based. Characters are generally kind to each other and talk to one another, sharing ideas and working together to learn new things. Fig the fox (often accompanied by his friends Maple the bear and stick the caterpillar) learns through observation and his own experience. Each episode starts with the discovery of a new object in the "Finding Place." Whatever the object (a mirror, a hat, a tube, a paddle, etc.), Fox embarks on a mission of discovery or problem-solving (to figure out what it is, how it works, etc.). Unlike so many shows for young children, this one has no weapons, fighting, or any other kind of gratuitous violence. As a parent, this is one show I feel good about letting my child watch.
