How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsHilarious, but beware of potty humor!
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2021
My 7 year old son LOVED this book. He laughed so much while reading it, and kept bringing me sections to read. It was indeed funny! It does contain quite a bit of potty humor (farting, diarrhea) so I probably wouldn't recommend it for any younger of a child (who may not understand that this sort of humor is not appropriate in certain situations....such as, at school!). I'm not even sure I should have let my son read it since he sometimes forgets his filter. But, oh well - it was super funny and he loved it. We are looking forward to the next Dog Man!

1.0 out of 5 starsNOT APPROPRIATE FOR LITTLE READERS
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2021
Major disappointment, no where close to being as great as it's predecessors. What happened Dav? This book is disgusting, it displays the characters peeing on themselves, and says "if you're happy and you know it poop your pants". NOT APPROPRIATE FOR LITTLE READERS.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disgusting references to poop and pee

This is absolutely disgusting. My daughter has purchased all the DogMan books, but this is the worst one yet. Peeing, songs about pooping, diarrhea, another song about 3 pounds of poop on the floor, etc. This is a book you want parents to pay for so their children can read this garbage? Ridiculous. Your last book, CatMan was uninteresting to my 10 year old, so we looked forward for several months for the next DogMan Mothering Heights. Even my 10 year old was disgusted. What a piece of trash! So disappointed, Dav Pilkey. Obviously what began as an inspiration, turned into rubbish that you expect us to buy for our children. There are other ways to tell a story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!

This book added a lot of new stuff, they added 'Meet the Cast' section where it describes every character, such as their strongness and weakness. I have to say it was a little (actually, not a little, A LOT) shorter, but WAY more emotional. Sadness, badness, goodness, and LOVE! It talks about Petey's past (when Sarah interviews him), about her mom and him when he was young. After Petey's dad left them, they started with nothing, life was hard. But his mom never lost hope, she forgave him, always believed in him, and she always said, "Love lasts forever and ever" When Sarah interviews him to talk about his past, he says he realized that Lil' Petey was the same as his mom, Lil' Petey never lost hope, he forgave Petey, he believed in him.
I hope you didn't cry while reading this, pretty emotional, huh?
ANYWAYS, back to non-emotional stuff, the enemies in this book were the two sippers. And it was made by Big Jim and Grampa (somehow it isnt Grandpa).
And I didn't realize Chief was CRUSHING on Nurse Lady~~ Ooh LaLa~~
In the beginning of the story dogman gets hurt when the toilet seat falls onto his hands while he was drinking from the toilet. So, he has to wear a cane (the thing dogs wear to stop them from licking or biting a certain place on its body), dogman is worried that he'll get bullied because the cane looked funny. So, Lil' Petey makes him a 'special' cane and tells him to press the button whenever it's dangerous (such as bullies). When he arrives at the police station the cops immediately begans to bully dogman, he clicks the button on his cane and he transforms into a ROBOT!! That scares the mean bullies away.
In the end of the story after Petey's house is destroyed he founds his mom's ukulele (i dunno how to spell it) under broken bricks. The story ends as Petey makes music with his mom's ukulele…
Sorry, I promised there wasn't any more emotional stuff from now on but there is too many in this book *Sniff* I can't help it.... *Sniff* *Sobs*
I could continue but I feel the longer I write, the unorganized it becomes… I am VERY sorry that it is unorganized but every time I write a paragraph I have another thing to write. So yeah. I better end it here

When the book came, my 9-year-old son finished in less than 20 minutes! This book was more adventurous and I could hear many laughs. When Li'l Petey and Molly sing silly songs. my son wouldn't stop singing it to me himself! I hope more Dog Man books come soon !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it in a hour

My son snatched this book from my hands (in a good way) and read the whole thing in less than an hour. Since then he's read it 4 more times and he's only had it a few days. Also, unlike the captain underpants books by the same author, this series seems to stick with the correct spelling of words. I get why the C.U. books are written that way, I just don't like it.

I just read a news article about Captain Underpants being cancelled. Don't apologize Mr. Pilkey. You are awesome. The Dog Man books are my 8 year old daughter's favorite. She sings If You're Happy and You Know it Poop Your Pants and no one in the family is offended by that. The ridiculousness of what's happening right now...
