The value of this book is ensuring that your business is poised to thrive by examining best practices of successful entrepreneurs. As Grant explains, it isn't necessarily the product you're offering that's the most important aspect of your business, it's making sure you have aspects of management, operations, sales and marketing covered as well. These practical, useful habits are introduced to show how they can benefit your business, and then examined further to explain how even the most unstructured entrepreneur can work these into their practice. A worthwhile read!
The author brought in ideas such as: reading! He really went into depth about how important reading is not just for "students" but for those who want to always have "continuing education" their entire lives--which is probably most people reading this sort of book!
I found myself highlighting quite a bit and will happily look through my highlights later to bring back the relevant elements of the book.
A succinct outline of the mindsets and habits of successful entrepreneurs. An interesting book, written so well that it kept me engaged and wanting to read more. The author presents an insightful formula for achieving a breakthrough during setbacks and challenges that threaten to bring you, and your business, down. He also makes a good point about how patience can be a secret curse unless it is active patience instead of passive patience. And how using active momentum instead of passive acceptance leads to real change. Not just a good primer for an entrepreneur, but for anyone who wants to be maximally successful in life.
As a semi-retired entrepreneur, I read the 7 Keys Habits wishing that I had the benefit of the book during some very trying business times. The information contained in this book is solid, well written and very timely. One thought that struck me while reading was that you don't have to be an entrepreneur to benefit from reading the book. Many of the ideas and strategies would translate well as guidance for every day living. Recommended reading for anyone.
Great high level overview of the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. I would say this book is more directed at beginners and those new to being an entrepreneur. Loved the examples used, and the different success traits that were touched on (especially the emphasis on taking care of your health.) Highly recommend!
One of my favorite things about this book is that it acknowledges that your healthy, happiness, and family need to be part of your goals and ambitions. You need to be able to blend your life with your work-life. There are a lot of good ideas on how to do that.
This is a good book with solid general information for people wanting to start a business. Walter Grant uses examples of real life, successful entrepreneurs to illustrate his points. The tone of the book is very encouraging. Out of the seven habits he covers, my favorite is the habit of persistence. Many closed businesses could have succeed if their owners had just read this book and persisted through hardships and setbacks.
Just like the author said:” I have nothing but a product and a dream” My journey has just begun! I haven’t finished reading this book, however, so far , it is been a very interesting and informative read. I will be reading this book word for word.
Keep this book on hand everywhere you go and you will excel exponentially. I was surprised at how good the writing and stories were in this amazing book. If you apply the knowledge listed in here then you will become a master at life. I am serious you need to buy this book.
