Another amazing installment in this series. I always buy each and every one of Martha Carr’s books on the day they are released to take advantage of the 99 cent deal. It makes the books affordable for everyone, but most of all I want to get my hands on each one the day it comes out because I am in love with the series. The world Martha has created is where I go to escape my everyday problems. Every time I read one of these books it’s llke walking into a different universe and leaving everything else behind. The only thing I’d ever change about these is to see one published every week, but I realize how unfeasible that is. This specific book did not disappoint. I stayed up through the night reading it. I never thought I’d say I have fallen in love with a cussing troll but I have. In fact I’ve fallen in love with all of the characters. There is real depth to them, which seems to be missing from a lot of books nowadays. And I love the universe she’s created. It’s a true masterpiece that allows for mental escape. My teenage daughter reads these books too and we bond over them. Kind of like a mother-daughter book club. If you’re looking for a series that will draw you in, keep you interested, and offers characters and plots you will absolutely love I definitely recommend this series. It’s one of the best I’ve read in a long time and this book is no exception to the series’ rule of awesomeness.
Leira, Correk, and Yum~~~~ make every adventure exciting. Leira faces struggles, combatting evil at every turn. One of the surprises in this book is the humanization of the General; the glimpse of his personal life endears him to the reader and we can truly see that he is a good guy. A great addition to the story.
Another character, Louie, becomes more prominent and integral to the story, as does the introduction of Jackson (nope, not gonna give away his secret!) Ms. Carr does ASN exceptional job of continuing the general story, but never forgetting the individual stories that create the whole. Great book that leaves me panting for more!
I have loved every book in this series. Waiting for the next one to come out and for Leira to kick some more bootie. Keeping up with the Oriceran Chronicles and Kurtherian books is a breathing taking, no wait a mind blowing deal. I don't read out loud so it can't me breath taking! I hope everyone who reads these enjoys them as much as I do. And doesn't mind a bit of strong language. I am not crazy about the cursing but the books just keep me going. For Christians there are GD's in these series, which I wish they would leave out, but please be warned.
This was a great one. Things are heating up and possibilities and solutions are appearing. Glad to see Yumf*ck taking care of business in his own mischievous way! All the team Haden Rose Mara her mother Jackson Correck Turner seeing the myriad of pieces playing out into the open. Everything is moving now and I cannot wait to see it play out. Still a forever fan!
Love this series. Something about this irreverent little twerp that makes me smile, no matter what he does. Congratulations on creating a supporting character that has taken on a life of his own. Your subconscious works better than a lot of authors at their full concentration. Keep up the good work - I read and re-read them all.
This book #6 in the series is another good one. We get a more in-depth look at magic. We get to see more about how the Jasper Elves contributed. More importantly, we learn the role that Leira's father plays in all of it. It's exciting to watch as Martha peels the onion, revealing the layers of magic one by one. As usual, it's a fun read.
I just love this book and the entire series. It's about magic but it is also about coming together, family, friends and connections. I like how I feel when I'm reading these books. The story flows and the characters fit. Keep them coming Martha. I'm looking forward to the next one and then the next one, and so on and so on.
I love Leira and Correck and Yumfuck almost most of all! I found myself deliberately slowing down to make it last longer. There are several plot lines running through this one so taking a little time with it makes sense. My only problem with this book is I have to wait for the next one now!
Great addition to the series. Leira is getting to know not only her father but also something about her unique heritage. This was a fun adventure that has added greatly to the series. Highly recommend.
