"Women who science"
Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2021
At the start of the lockdown last March, I had free time and decided to read more. For me, the only choice is an HEA romance. There are many fine authors that write excellent books. With so many to choose from I relied on the recommendations of authors that are an automatic buy for me. I started with Sarah MacLean & Caroline Linden and proceeded to fall in love with Tessa Dare and Courtney Milan, along with others. Always using their recommendations. I actually did not start reading Julia Quinn until November 2020. The authors I follow are very generous with their recommendations. Ms Quinn and others were praising Elizabeth Everett and they were absolutely correct.
The chemistry between Lady Violet and her science, which happens to be chemistry, is palpable. Only a strong bond with Arthur could even compete with her passion. Fortunately, the reader is treated to a wonderful adventure as Lady Violet and her loves create a new formula for happiness. If a woman feels so strongly about science and supporting other women in their pursuit of knowledge, she will have to recognize that societal conventions have to give way in her love for a worthy partner.
