How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Just in case Kelley reads her reviews I'm here to request the next book pretty please. This one was so good but I feel like it was just getting good when it ended. Really good. If we could get the book just a tad bit early, that would be great!

I could not finish it and bailed at about 80%. This will be my last book in this series. Unbelievable and boring.

Always look forward to the next Rockton book. I feel like I'm learning a little more about the character and Rockton with each book. It's like forming a friendship -- you learn more about the person as time goes by.

Another good mystery stacked on top of a other good mystery. This one just keeps piling them on and Casey is on the job.

Rockton was created years ago in an isolated area in the Yukon territory, with the purpose of allowing a select group of individuals to pay to hide there for two years. People are constantly coming and going, but there is a core group to form continuity. Some residents are hiding from their crimes, some are hiding from their abusers, and some just need an escape from life in civilization. All of the residents have secrets, which only the sheriff and the council that overseas Rockton know. They all have to work together to survive, this isn’t a resort. There are other groups that live in the area; there are two settlements, some individuals/groups on their own, and the hostiles.
The story is told through Detective Casey Duncan, who is in a committed relationship with Sheriff Eric Dalton. Although she is an exceptional detective, she grew up lacking self-confidence since her parents downplayed her intelligence and abilities. This is a continual internal struggle for her. When things suddenly start happening in the area outside of town, they get drawn into the struggles between the hostiles, the settlements, others who live in the wilds, and some hikers that seemed to have been killed by the hostiles with one known survivor. Things happen that leave Casey wondering if she is making the right decisions, questioning her responses.

There is a lot happening in this book, involving more of the known characters than usual. And then there are the new characters. It was a lot to take in. It looks like the hikers were killed by hostiles, but what about the family of trappers? And then other things go wrong and the mysteries continue to pile up. But we do get more history on the town, the settlements and the hostiles. Also, it seems residents of Rockton are being denied extensions at the same time that no new residents are arriving, so what does that mean?

Sebastian has become one of my favorite characters, a sociopath who is trying to adjust and live a more normal life, or at least appear to be living a normal life as a young man. I’m enjoying Casey’s sister April coming out of her shell, with the sisters developing a better relationship. April is on the autism scale which explains many of the problems they had growing up as neither really understood the other.

The stage is set for the next book in this series, but the question is which direction the story will take.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing Mystery in an Interesting Setting

Just to warn you, this series is addicting. A Stranger in Town is the newest book in the Rockton/Casey Duncan Series. This book is a great blend of murder/mystery and character development. The plot is fast paced, intriguing, full of twists and yet the characters all feel like they are friends. It’s in a unique setting - the middle of nowhere, isolated town full of people escaping, either from justice or bad situations, you never know who is there for which reason.

The mystery solved in this one has been percolating through all the previous books and it’s not the original mystery introduced in the plot. With every new book in this series a new piece of the big puzzle is uncovered always leaving you wanting more. This is a must read for thriller lovers.
