I read the first half and skimmed the second half. It was like reading a soap opera. The favorable reviews are misleading.

Under the Southern Sky Brings the South Alive In the Best Way

I love the south! Sure we have our problems just like any other place in the world where people are breathing air but we have strength and kindness and faith in our fellow man. Where our distinctive accent is as heavy and thick as the humid air we breathe.
This is what I love about Kristy Woodson Harvey’s writing and especially “Under the Southern Sky”, she really brings the south alive. The rockers on the front porch, sweet tea and bourbon, pecan pie, eccentric family members, the smell of gardenia, honeysuckle, magnolia, and where your mama is always waiting on her children. I could go on and on! I have loved all of her books but Under the Southern Sky is now my favorite and I truly believe her very best!!!
We have all had to deal with family drama and problems that life throws at us whether it is an unfaithful spouse, a family member dying of cancer, dealing with fertility issues, or financial struggles, etc... We can relate to the characters and understand their emotions. If you are looking for a great story that will make you mad, make you cry and laugh then Under the Southern Sky is a definite must read for you!

An Emotional Read

I have read several of Kristy Woodson Harvey's books, but this one is her best, I think. Her best so far, as I am sure she will write more books. It is a story about love, redemption, southern living, but mostly about love. The main character, Amelia, is heartbroken when he life as she knows it, falls apart. It also has several other characters, Parker, Greer, who is Parker's late wife and two meddling southern mama's. Is there any other way for southern mama's?? Without giving away too much, Amelia becomes involved in Parker's life, who was her childhood best friend, feelings develop, but there are forces involved that may or may not keep them apart. The characters and even the storyline will relate with so many readers. It is a must read, a quick read, and will leave you with a warm, cuddly feeling.

Beautiful story with life lessons woven in

This was a pleasant summer read—light enough to be perfectly enjoyable but still with enough weight to leave you with something to chew on. There were some nice life lessons here, about accepting where life takes you without trying to always cultivate and control the outcome. And as a resident of Beaufort NC...the coastal imagery always feels so good!

Her best yet!

Sure....you probably know how it will end, most "romance-y" type novels...you just do. But you do NOT know how these characters get there and you do NOT expect some of the things that happen. I feel this is Kristy's best book yet, I say that every time. I loved this one and already cannot wait for her next.

Beautiful Story: Families, Love and Tradition in the 21st Century!

KWH has written a provocative novel about how families come about, the importance of accepting one another for how God made us and loyalty to family/traditions. I enjoyed this book so very much. Hands down her best book yet! When I first discovered Kristy, it was from a blurb that my idol, Elin Hildebrand said about her. I thought to myself - well if Elin approves - I will check her out! Since then, I've read most of her backlist and am looking forward to reading her 4th installment in the Peachtree Bluff Series. Be sure to keep your eyes on this author - she is something special and is a rising star in the literary world!

Fun Beach Read!

I LOVED this sweet story! If you like this type of book, you’ll love this one. You’ll want to stay up all night reading. I loved the way she told the story from each characters perspective. I can’t wait to order another one by this author.
I don’t know how anyone could write a bad review unless they just don’t enjoy these types of books. I can’t wait to go lay on the beach with another book by her. ☀️

The Circle of Life

I loved this book. I cried and I laughed but I thought a whole lot about what's important in life. I'm 61 and haven't been happy about it either. This book was EXACTLY what I needed to kicks start my motivation to live again! Incredibly good book - I adore Ms. Harvey's style. Can't wait for her next favorite book!!!

This is an amazing story about three generations of family, love, marriage and having children. I have read all of Kristy Woodson Harvey's books and I think this one is the best! An up and coming Southern romance writer.

I loved that it was different. She is a good writer and I really enjoyed it and going to pass it on to my daughter-in-law. I hope to get more of her books.
