His mother told him.

Micah Townsend was so devastated by his mother's passing and witnessed the light go out of his father's eyes by the loss of his love, he vowed to never fall in love. But his mother told him before she died that he would meet a woman that he would lay his life down for. That he would know her when he saw her, and he did. The minute Jodi Taylor walked into his P.I. business, he knew. Jodi felt immediately relaxed in his presence after she got her initial confrontation over with. She realized that comfort came from an earlier meeting of Micah when they were children.
Jodi only had three months in Texas hill country to clear up her grandfather's estate. She did not have time for love, besides, she had to find out how her grandfather really died. She relied on Micah's L. S. Investigations to get at the root of the problem. When Jodi's life was endangered, they knew they were on the right path.
The author, Tiffany Patterson, took this story on a whirlwind adventure. I just loved the relationship that they all had with Hound. I'm a dog lover so this part hit home for me. It tickled me how he would whine whenever Micah and Jodi got too much into each other. The couple just could not help themselves as their chemistry was hot as fire. I love a good book that has me guessing what was going on with the story and this one did not disappoint. The plot had twists and turns that were not expected.
