Nora Robert's is one of my favorite authors. What I enjoyed most about this book was:
It wasn't instant love. It took them both a little while to adjust, creating more realistic love story versus last.
It had adult banter and conversations. Some authors miss the mark and you can't help but wonder "Were thet trying for the dialog of JR High?"
Very few books do I keep on my tablet but this one I will. 1. Because it's Nora Robert's. 2. Because I enjoyed it enough that I just might read it again.

This was an okay book but there was no preparation for the characters meeting and just never took hold of me as her books usually do.

Anticipation to the max!

I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. I haven't had that problem since I was a child. Thanks for a story that drew me in. The characters are so realistic that I couldn't wait to so how things would turn out. I am still wondering how rad is doing.

They Were Strangers, Not In Love!

I have been in lust. You know that sleep with someone; talk to that someone regularly so you cannot stop thinking about them feeling. It lasts for about two months and then you look back and that person is no longer a relevant force in your life. I thought this was going to be a touching story about feminine strength and everything that comes along with it. What I ended up finding is that the neighbor, a bit creepy, wormed his way into a mother/son family unit by bringing a pizza that was delivered to his apartment instead of theirs (which he paid for and they proceeded to eat not knowing what this stranger could have done to it in the process of delivery). He then got himself invited to dinner that night and a few times after that. He watched her and her son as they came home from work/school, which has creepy written all over it. Then she allowed this man she new all but a week to watch her son after he got home from school, then allowed her son to go out with this man alone. She then went on a date with this man she barely knew and slept with him when they got home (only 2 weeks into knowing each other and only one date). Then in the end she ended up getting engaged to this man she could not have known more than 2 months because every time they went out it was winter and snow on the ground and her son never progressed to another grade which means that this relationship (if you can call it that) went way too fast. She decided to uproot her family and move to another state after having just moved to her apartment about two months prior, which means she would be uprooting her kid for the third time, this time over a stranger. There was no real disclosure of information regarding their lives. Just a tale or two of a past relationship and family ties. How can you love someone if all you know about them is that they were scarred from a divorce that happened over a century prior? And she knew even less about him. I think this was very unrealistic and the unrealistic nature ruined the affect of the story for me. There is no way any sane person would allow a man to sweet talk his way into their life and have that much access to their son unsupervised without knowing a dang detail about them. I found it a bit creepy, to be honest. I usually love Nora Roberts and I have read the Key Trilogy a million times. I am in the mood for romance books but this was so not the ticket. Back to the Key Trilogy; Key of Light, here I come...
