A life of adventure does not mean you get to choose what kind
Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2020
A prince of a stolen kingdom flees his home country trying to avoid his Sister's assassins, straight from one where magic is banned to one where only strong magicians rule.
Here the main character tries to take a breath and find his feet as a sword for hire, life is not so nice as to let him stand easy.
This is no high adventure, jumping from rooftops escape, instead its dirty infighting with murky political undertows in a town and local assassins.
Another enjoyable read with characters that think, need to recover, have cross purposes and wants.
Well worth the time to read
