I FEEL CHEATED

I see all these glowing reviews of this book and understand right away that these readers are not true crime readers. This book was advertised as a true crime book, the author lauded as a 'talented true crime writer'. Maybe she's a good writer and a good therapist and maybe she has some fans but she is not a true crime writer and this book certainly should not be advertised as such. Rather, it is a giant plea to have a murderer released. We are served up a daily routine of life in a psychiatric hospital, a boring, tedious list of crummy stuff that happens to the chronically mentally ill who are confined. While i agree, circumstances at a state run hospital, are at best grim, I also find (having had experience working in the mental health field) that workers there do their best to make life tolerable for sufferers. However, the subject of this book, a person the author believes is not mentally ill, is a murderer. Would he be better off in prison? If you ask me, I believe he's lucky to be where he is and totally unworthy of all this attention. He murdered his parents. They are dead. He is alive. The author should work hard to get him into prison instead of writing a completely one sided book about how he is being so badly treated in hospital. Give me a true crime book when a true crime book is advertised. i want my money back.
