To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Well written with a flow and organization that lends itself to reading aloud. Clear main idea – animals of the Amazon rainforest are busy throughout day and night. Some are diurnal and some are nocturnal. The text structure moves the reader through the day – 6:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., NOON, etc – a refreshing take on a familiar topic. The description of each animal is appealing (“Coatis scamper along the shady forest floor. They snort, scream, and whistle to one another…”) and then there are additional informational captions. This might be a book read aloud to launch a unit of study and then teams of students choose a particular animal or plant to research in more detail. Great author’s note at the end explaining “what is a tropic rain forest?” and including a helpful map.
