Love this book, Love Susan Mallery! I read this series several years ago. Recently, I had been looking for something to read and started trying to remember the storylines of each book in the series, I couldn't recall the details so I started again at book one. I am so enjoying revisiting Fool Gold! I wish there were still communities like this, their might be, but I haven't heard of of one! Lol! I loved Dakota & Finn's story! Just overall...a great story! If you haven't read Susan's series about Fool's Gold...I give it 5 stars, and invite you all to read the next several books with me! Reading about Fool's Gold, is like coming home again!

3.0 out of 5 starsNot one of Susan Mallery's best.

I finished this book last night. I can say it was not one of Mallery's best books. Honestly the whole Fools Gold Series is really not her best as far as I am concerned. I think her Sweet series, Buchanan series or Titan Sisters series were much better. Only Mine first off started with a Reality Series being the setting. I hate Reality shows so that was my first strike against this book. The second was it was too predictable. I was able to know what was going to happen in just about every scene before I read it. Not too much of a interesting read that way. Then strike three was it seemed about the 3rd or 4 chapters before the end, story lines that were going on just ended with no real explanation of what happened or a hint of a future story. This has been a trend in this series. I am guess that is due to editors making the authors cut down the books. I really like Susan Mallery's writing but this series is just not doing it for me. Will I get the next one possibly but I don't think it will be when it is first released. I have other authors that are releasing books at the same time that I will go with first. I truly hope that Susan Mallery will go back to how she wrote in Falling for Gracie and the other series I mentioned above.

This is a great addition to the Fools Gold Series with Dakota and Finn finding their happily ever after. Dakota had given up on having children after getting her diagnosis so she decided to adopt. She was secure in her life as a psychologist so she did not need a man's love she could do this alone. When the reality show Dr died to start filming in Fools Gold the disappointed her to look out for the town and oversee the project. It was a dating show were they put together couples to see if they would fall in love. They held reputation all over and twin brothers Sasha and Stephen tried out and were selected. Sasha was paired with Lani and Stephen was paired with Aurelia who was 9 years older than him. Finn stormed into town looking for his brothers who left with just one semester remaining before they got their college degree and he was going to drag them back to South Salmon Alaska whether they liked it or not. He ran into Dakota who advised him to calm down and wait to see what happened with the show because they could be eliminated right away. Finn was partners in an air freight company but their busy season was in a couple weeks so he had the time to wait things out. In the mean time Dakota and Finn were attracted to each other and started seeing each other. Finn raised his brothers after their parents died and he was looking forward to having no responsibilities so he was not looking for a permanent relationship. The story picks up with humour, romance and a touching story line before Finn and Dakota find what was missing in their lives and so much more. This book leaves you feeling good and shows you life is constantly changing and in most cases for the better. Revisiting Fools Gold was a pleasure and shows you that small towns are a great place to live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only Mine - by Susan Mallery

I love reality TV (Anyone else addicted to The Bachelorette?) And the Fool's Gold series by Susan Mallery is at the top of my list of favorite series reads! (If Fool's Gold was a real town? I'd move their in a heartbeat!) So I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was for book #4 in the series!

This is the first book featuring the Hendrix Triplets - Dakota, Nevada and Montana. I have enjoyed their characters in previous books and was looking forward to their feature books! Dakota most definitely did not disappoint.

In the opening pages, her personality grabbed me! Her humor is something that I could relate to, including one of her opening cracks to Finn about his choice of a plaid shirt. I think on a personal level I related to Dakota more than any of the other Women in Fool's Gold, her humor being the main connection.

I loved watching the relationship between Dakota and Finn bloom, and I found them to be one of the more realistic couples in romance novels. He was hot tempered (making me think of my own husband at times) and she had a natural way of talking him back down, much thanks to her background with a PhD in Psychology.

Another great element to this book was the subplots. Finns twin brothers, Sasha and Stephen were entertaining. Although to be honest, I didn't have much use for Sasha's character or his part in the reality show. But Stephen and his counterpart - Aurelia? I couldn't get enough of them!

I give Only Mine 4 Hearts, and can't wait for the next installment in this series! (Only Yours is due out August 30!)

I read this on my Kindle but have the book too.

I love Susan Mallery's books and the Fool's Gold series is just great! Ms Mallery creates the best characters, they have flaws, but I like to think I'd be their friend. Dakota who we've met in the first 3 Fool's Gold books but now we get to be up close and personal LOL Being one of the local triplets can't have been easy over the years but they all have great personalities and we get to know their mother, Denise, even more, she's been in the series too. We also have met Montana and Nevada, the other 2 triplets. What great women they all are but this is Dakota's book! We have to see her with her sisters and mom to understand her a little.

We meet Finn Anderssen and he's not at his best when he's after Dakota to get his twin brothers thrown off the set of the reality show being taped in Fool's Gold. He wants them back in Alaska to finish college-they have 1 semester left. He doesn't understand why they would do this. He's been their parents since they lost theirs 8 years ago. I warmed up to Finn after seeing him with Dakota through her own ups and downs. They do make a great couple with all the little one, Hannah. Can't blame Finn for wanting to be a free man but can he really?

Ms Mallery has created the twins, Stephen and Sasha, as different people too. Sasha wants to be a "star" and Stephen has come along to help him. Sasha has an equal as his interest in the reality show Lani is just as eager to be a "star" too so they hit if off. Stephen is paired with a woman 9 years older, 30 y.o. Aurelia, but she's not had a chance to be herself with her silly mother intimidating her so she's been bullied by the mother to do this show. She and Stephen seem to get along and maybe a little more if she can take the plunge.

We see Finn being kind and attentive to Dakota through some big changes in her life but the biggest is
Finn's too and he isn't sure he's ready to settle down. Wonderful love story even though we know there is a HEA it's not always easy for the characters to get there. Ms Mallery has done a wonderful job on Dakota and Finn's story!

I'm ready to read the ONLY YOURS Montana's book.

More like 4.5 stars. Note to Amazon: Need 1/2 stars. But I digress... I don't know what rock I've been hiding under, but I had never heard of Susan Mallery. Granted I don't read a lot of romance. Then I read a glowing review. I looked up Susan Mallery online and found her all over social media. She's open and loves engaging her readers. Plus, the enthusiasm for Mallery's books on GoodReads is overwhelming. Impressed, I picked up a copy.

Only Mine is Book 4 of the Fool's Gold series. Fool's Gold is a California town gaining notoriety for its high female to male ratio. So much notoriety that a television crew comes to town to film a romantic reality competition show. Dakota Hendrix is the mayor's choice to supervise the crew and make sure Fool's Gold doesn't get misrepresented. She, along with her other two triplet sisters and mother, is facing a lot of uncertainty and disappointment in her life.

Sasha and Stephen are twins cast on the show, both looking to change their lives. Sasha wants fame and a shot in Hollywood, while Stephen is just searching. Their older brother and guardian, Finn Anderssen, follows them to Fool's Gold intent on bringing them back home and to his version of what their lives should be.

Finn and Dakota come together, hot and heavy. She's reeling from the news that having children will be difficult and looking to adopt. He's beside himself with worry about his brothers. They need an escape and find it in each other.

The story takes the reader through the twists and turns of the reality television show and Finn and Dakota's budding romance. Full of wit and humor, Only Mine doesn't disappoint on the happy ending, but most romance novels don't.

I loved the character of Dakota. She is dealing with devastating news and heads eyes wide-open into the fling with Finn. But life throws her some unexpected curveballs, as it always does. I was rooting her on the entire story and applauded her courage and ability to step back and assess a situation. Finn was just the opposite, balls-out and full steam ahead. Their passion was only the beginning.

My only complaint was how quickly they jumped in. I'm an old-fashioned gal, I guess, because I wanted a little more will they or won't they build. But there was nothing sweeter than seeing Finn's softer side come out as his relationship with Dakota shifted and deepened.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I knew Mallery was writing Books 5 and 6 centered around Dakota's sisters before I started, but it was more obvious after reading the books. The Hendrix family, as well as the whole community, have a lot more story to tell.

My biggest problem with romance novels... there's rarely new territory explored. It's girl meets boy, girl wants boy, boy is afraid to commit, but boy and girl get together in the end. This story follows that formula down the line, but it was entertaining and emotion-filled from start to finish. Thus, the 4 (leaning toward 4.5) stars.

'I love to escape reality as much as the next gal, and Only Mine definitely satisfied that desire. Anyone who counts the romance genre as a favorite will enjoy the dessert that is Only Mine.

Only Mine by Susan Mallery is a wonderful story about finding identity and a place to call home in the one you were meant to be with. As readers we get to see more Fool's Gold characters shine through in this series and become more invested in their lives as this story focuses on Dakota Hendrix (one of the triplets) and how she finds her path in life. We also get to meet a newcomer in town named Finn and let me just say he is very much one of those fictional guy characters every girl wishes she could marry in real life. As has become customary I will tell you all the things I loved about this book so I don't give anything away.

Things I Love About Only Mine by Susan Mallery:

Getting to see Dakota not as a triplet, but an individual
Finn and Dakota's first meeting
Finn's passion for being responsible to his family
The twins and how different they are
The Hendrix family dynamic
Fool's Gold
Denise going on a date then talking about it with her daughters
Hannah (so adorable)
Dakota's miracle
Finn's stubbornness
Dakota and Finn's sense of humor
Finn being cornered at the market
Dakota finally putting herself in the game and fighting
And of course the ending because that was just heart stopping

I gave Only Mine by Susan Mallery 5 stars because I was invested in the outcome for all the characters. Only Mine draws readers in with true emotion and tons of heart that it is hard not to be affected by this story. In my opinion it is a must read and a must own.

Dakota, one of the triplets in Fool's Gold, is the primary focus of Book 4 of the series. Feeling that her chance of finding Mr. Right are slim and the chance of her then being able to get pregnant with her medical history is even slimmer she applies to adoption a child...
As Dakota is resigning herself to the possible idea of living her life as a single mom a twist comes into the picture in the form of a tall dark and handsome man named Finn. He comes to town to gather up his two brothers who have left college to audition for a new Tv reality show which will be based in Fool's Gold. He will drag them back to Alaska, back to finish out their last year of school if it's the last thing he does. The sparks fly and love is in the air but who will find their true love and who will follow their dream. This book was one that I couldn't put down. I was drawn in by the characters and the storyline flowed nicely moving from one situation to another. A Great Read.

What century was this novel penned, obviously before the AIDS epidemic. How could a Ph.D., graduate in Psychology, be so ignorant about having safe sex, STIs, and the reason for condom usage? While Denise, her mother and sisters, be so 'matter of fact', about the occurrence, they know nothing about Finn, or his history. This is the wrong message Ms. Mallery is conveying to impressionable young adults. Tsk, Tsk!

This was my favorite of the Fool's Gold books that I have read. I liked Finn from the first chapters, and the way Dakota was able to calm him down and help him with his perspective was special. Good solid story, not a lot of fluff.
