Okay, I really like this series and the author’s style of writing and I’m going to read book ten. This book had essentially no action, it was boring. They were packing and gathering individuals for their expedition. Have you ever packed for a trip? How exciting was that?

the Science Officer, up until books 9 & 10 in the series, was excellent... and then it went to crap at number 9...and didn't come back at #10. these are both essentially "starch", fillers to create revenue for the author and not an enrichment of the series. Amazingly disappointing, and I won't continue. I have over 1,000 books in my SF library and rarely write a review, but these last two are the thanksgiving turkeys of 2020!

Unnecessary book in the series

This book was very short and was solely a mechanism for the author to setup the next adventure. It could have been done in a couple of chapters but instead we get page after page after page of dialog and dribble. It also continues to drive home the authors obsession with stating that everyone in this world is bi/homo sexual. They are also one skin color or another and have casual sexual relationships with many partners and subordinates all at the same time. With no ramifications or issues. None of this contributes to the storyline and is rather boring. I think I'm done with this series and author.
