I've accumulated quite a lot of these digital pinky promises that Amazon peddles as necessary peace of mind-- I really do take solace in knowing Amazon will replace a defective product, no questions asked.
However, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that most people wouldn't make a purchase from a business with poor reputation, so they'd have little need to then insure their wise decision of avoidance.
What I'm saying is I prefer Amazon because they have a mostly good reputation and therefore have no valid excuse for repeatedly covering my bets.

My final word of complaint is more legitimate. I have neither enjoyed nor regretted owning this protection plan product. In fact, I simply don't think about them at all once purchased, that is until the Bezos-Bots hit me with a review request template. How can I rate a product that I've never once had the opportunity to use?
Keep up the great work, Amazon.... But you should consider firing the tech who supposedly oversees the bot/email department. It doesn't make any sense, none of it makes sense really.

If I could give this items 0 stars I would. I bought an item that unfortunately would not work for my desk set up. Asurion emails me to say they've taken $29.95 from me and practiced bureaucrats everywhere, they fail to cite what they took it for. A movie ticket for themselves, perhaps? They paid for their course in how to maltreat customers? Criminal like behavior? WE NEED YOU TO STATE WHAT PRODUCT YOUR SO-CALLED "PROTECTION PLAN" IS FOR.
TRY IT. It is actually easy to state the minimum. It is actually easy to treat customers like customers rather than milking cows.

Just bough this on a mouse. The mouse itself is a replacement for a more expensive one (from the same company) that started failing very shortly after the mfg warranty expired - so yes, this is worth it.

I've bought and used Asurion plans on other items, and have had to redeem them on more than one occasion. The redemption process was among the easiest I've ever experienced.

I spent 2 days on the phone with tech support and got nowhere. None of the tech support team had experience with any type of voice recorder, had no access to a manual, and spent hours online searching for YouTube videos that could help. They will waste your time, big time looking for help themselves online. They are friendly but hapless.

I purchased the extra warranty for an item costing around $300.00. Having the product for little over a year and used it maybe six times or so. Well when I went to use it and a part of it just came off. I called ASURION, they advised to fill out a form they sent, securely package the product and mail it to them. They said will contact me to advise if the product is repairable within 2-5 business days. The support team kept me updated; when they received the item; when they viewed the item, and what they discovered. My item wasn’t repairable and they reimbursed me for the item. It was a quick turnaround. I never had to use a warranty before, but I will always get one and I’m glad I did. I will recommend ASURION. I give the business and support team FIVE STARS!!

The hardest part about using this service is remembering what you actually purchased the protection plan for and when it expires. If you search your amazon orders you can find the Asurion purchases and then pair this with the product that you are protecting. I ended up going through all my plans with a support agent while looking through my Amazon order history and putting everything (including expiration dates) on a spreadsheet for easy tracking.

I usually purchase a protection plan for technology items that are a not low cost disposable items, and that I expect to be using for 3-5 years. The low cost of the plan is cost effectively to ensure that the device will be repaired or replaced if it fails outside the manufacturer warranty, or in the event that the manufacturer warranty will not cover the necessary repair. In most cases, the item is simply replaced.

This was a KVM switch used to switch Keyboard, Video and Mouse between two computers. The device stopped functioning and I made a claim because it was out of manufacturer's warranty. As soon as UPS got the defective device (with Asurion prepaid label), Asurion issued a credit VIA Amazon. Credit suited me well as I wouldn't want another switch of the same brand. It doesn't get any better than that....
