The latest installment is absolutely great! I'm a huge fan of Caleb Amsel and I made sure to pick this one up. Thistlewood keeps you on your toes guessing who the killer is until right at the end! So glad to not deal with douchebag Blevins this time too! What a relief!
I love ALL of Ms. Walter's book. I accidentally read a couple out of order that I was still able to enjoy the book without reading the one before. She has a lot of different books to fit different age groups and/or choose from different genres . I like that the author can provide books from teenage to scary or adult books. I gave her five stars because you don't always see what's coming even though you think you met.🤔 Great book

This is my favorite cozy mystery series by one of my favorite authors. Yes, I received an ARC but that is because I have read and loved all of Rysa Walkers books starting with her Timebound time travel book for which she won the Amazon Breakthrough Novel award in 2013.
In Thistlewood book 5, Ruth, Wren and Cassie try to solve the mystery of Ruth’s missing Ex who is presumed to have committed suicide after killing his business partner. There is also a local mystery of a missing quilt to keep the trio busy. These books are light mysteries and a great escape from reality.

I really like this author's writing style. These books are very easy to read with good flow. The mysteries are gripping. You may suspect who the murderer is but don't really know until almost the very end. Really good mystery books. I really like both this authors series, Thistlewood Star Mysteries and the authors other series The Coastal Playhouse Mysteries. Both have a touch of paranormal activity. I wish the author would write more in both of these series. There is no bad language either. Thanks to the author for another great read! Please write more!
I enjoy the Thistlewood Star Mysteries because of the author's writing. Mysteries aren't my favorite genre (they're okay), but I know I'll get a good read from this author.
Cozy mystery series have a tendency to strain belief at some point because it gets harder and harder to believe that the main character would be in a position to solve so many high-stakes mysteries, often without getting the police involved. As the fifth book in the series, this one is getting to that point, but the author somewhat makes it work, and I enjoyed the B-plot as a secondary mystery and a way to work in some of the side characters that weren't involved with the A-plot, which largely takes place out of town anyway.
I was so excited to returned Thistlewood - and not just because I was gifted an ARC. Ruth, Wren, Cassie et al. are good company and I enjoyed learning more about The Ex. One thing I love was that even thought it had been a while since reading in this series, Rysa does a great job reminding you who everyone is, and fleshing things out for newcomers. Altogether, another fun read!
A great, well written cozy mystery you can't put down. The story is captivating and holds your attention as you try to figure out what happened. The characters are engaging, intriguing and easy to get to know. A perfect read for those who love a good cozy mystery with the right amount of suspense, intrigue and mystery.
