I have read quite a few books by Amy Cross, and have enjoyed them all. However, I adore her collections of short stories! I really liked this book of short tales, especially The Boiler and The Haunting of Winds End. The title tale was just plain creepy, so much that it gave me goosebumps!

Great stories! It's refreshing to read ghostly tales that don't rely on vulgarity or extreme gore but rather are told in a truly frightening way without trying to be edgy or over the top. It's one of those books that you can read in a day if you like and when you are done reading you give a sigh of satisfaction. A wonderfully worthwhile read!

A few of the stories had alot ofnhints of what was happening but those hints werent clear enough for me. I felt I didnt know what happened at the end. The ghost and coughing stories were clever but didnt really hit it for me. Meh.
