Great for light, NOT for video.

Great for a work light, but the flicker and camera roll on video is serious. If you plan to run a timelapse camera or make any video with this light in the room, it will ruin it. This is typical of inexpensive A/C powered LED lights from anywhere, but if you didn't know, now you know.

I put these around my horse stall and pointed towards wash rack. The light is bright and we were actually able to perform a surgical procedure on one of the horses because lighting was so good.
**Update it’s been 5 months and 1 of the lights quit working. It’s a shame because they put out great lighting.
*** update now 7mos and the other one is now blown. Completely sheltered under a roof so not sure why they keep blowing out. I was notified by company that they’d replace but I haven’t received anything and it’s been 2 months.

Great replacement for halogen work lights

I have several sets of old work light stands that held two halogen lights and the bulbs were hot, fragile, and not cheap. Instead of ordering more old bulbs, I thought I would give a set of these a try and am so far pleased with the results with a few modifications.

The old work light stands are the kind with three folding legs and a telescopic mast to raise the light bar high where two units are affixed. Swapping the old lamps with a set of these is simple except for one issue: as they are built, the mounting brackets on the LED lamps cannot rotate 360-degrees around the light body (you can't swing the mount all the way around). The outside face of the body is larger than the bracket width. If you try to mount these with the bracket vertically down (clamped to the top of the stand's light bar) and the lamp pointing horizontally straight ahead, you can only adjust the light upwards.

I need these to angle up and down so I bend the bracket wide enough to fit around the lamp body. Then, I used some longer socket cap screws and added a few washers on each side where the mounting bracket is affixed to the sides of the lamp. This way the bracket is out far enough to where I can rotate the lamp up and down. See the attached photo - simple and cheap fix.

I intend to use these in my shop and outside this fall/winter to illuminate my child's soccer field. They are VERY bright and big. If you have an old set of work lights on a stand and want to do the same conversion, check the distance between mount points on your stand to ensure these fit. If they do and you're willing to tinker a bit, you shouldn't be disappointed. I am so pleased with the results that I will order another set to convert more work lamps from halogen to LED.

These lights were a good replacement for previous lights purchased with a stand. I guess I found out the hard way that there is no replacement bulbs for LED flood lights. Kind of expensive at $58, but now I see the price has raised to $69. Hope they last longer than the first lights that came with the stand.

UPDATE: I now have noticed after first use when mounted on my stand they cannot be rotated downwards because the light hits the bracket. Major design flaw!

Just received these lights. First impression, the build quality is good and the lights are very bright. Make sure you don’t look at the lights directly. I like that it has an on/off switch and a plug. You can use a smart plug and put the light on a timer to schedule it to turn on from dusk to dawn, or control it remotely. I purchased a similar pair of lights but it had to be hardwired. I wish I found these lights before I got those. I hope these lights would last.

These lights work great and are bright. We use them on fishing boats. The hold up to water and have been durable after hours of use. The only issue is hardware seems to be to short from the mounting bracket to the light it’s self. We replaced the hardware after noticing the problem on our first use and have not had to mess with them again. Easy fix, just annoying extra work.
