FBI Special Agent Kim Otto is at it again! The Agent has her hands full in this one, however, as she has a new 'partner' , William Burke... My only slight problem is that I don't believe there is anything such as an 'Ex Navy SEAL'. Once a SEAL ...always a SEAL...
When an author is able to make the reader stop reading, go and retrieve a cup of hot chocolate, and put a sweater on, you know that she has done an excellent job. MY goodness, the chill and the frost in South Dakota overwhelmed me.
A prison break from the Federal Correctional Facility in which a ruthless inmate escaped is the beginning of this excellent novel. And, yes, the search is on.
There is a lot of action and adventure that takes place in this frosty South Dakota terrain. Twists and turns will keep the reader turning the pages and in hopes that the inmate will be found....and soon,
Always enjoy a strong female in a novel and in this case, Agent Kim Otto, fits this to perfection. The plot rolls along smoothly with the scenario of searching for the escaped inmate.
Definitely an action packed novel with a multi-layered plot. Toss in those twists and turns and the story gallops along at an excellent pace. The character development also contributed to this one.
All in all, an outstanding read for me...Now to go and get another cup of hot chocolate and warm up a little more.
FBI Special Agent Otto has a new partner named Burke. Ex Navy Seal, solid in all aspects, but he still hasn't passed her trustworthy list. He's getting close though. He's riding a beef that sidelined from the FBI'S elite hostage rescue team. She and Burke are in North Dakota to interview a jailhouse lawyer. Does she have a past with Reacher? An interview is set up but then all he'll breaks loose. A plane has crashed into the prison wall near the small town of Bolton where Otto and Burke are headed. Inmates have escaped. The lawyer at he time of they plane crash has accidentally been locked in a holding room. When released she is sent home by the local police chief to be interviewed later. From this point on all he'll breaks loose!! Non stop action to the very last page!!! Enjoyed immensely!!!!
After enjoying Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books for years, what a great idea to have companion books, Diane Capri's "Hunt for Jack Reacher" series! The main character, FBI Special Agent Kim Otto, following Reacher's trail and Reacher's body count. And getting reacquainted with characters from Lee Child's books. Then there's always the murder or current mystery which sidetracks Agent Otto's hunt, until she bags the bad guys and comes a little closer to catching up with Jack. "Jack Frost" has defiantly been the best so far, can't wait for the next one!
This was excellent read. Kim definitely had a lot to deal with between Cooper, Burke and Gasper. She handled the Burke situation perfectly. Cooper is nothing but an ass!!! Gasper is Mr. Reliable when it comes to helping Kim out. Just another excellent story!!! 10 stars 🌟 plus!!! Thanks, Carl Clause
The stories in this series just keep getting better and better. This one involves a complex plot to effect a prison escape. In many ways it’s unfinished. We know not what happened to one prisoner who escaped. We know not what happened with the lawyer who was kidnapped. We know not what happened with Reacher—if it was Reacher. It ain’t over yet.
Being born and raised in South Dakota, this was a fun and exciting ride! The hunt for Jack Reacher never fails to entertain me wherever it's setting may be. Kim Otto and Burke are an unusual pairing. Cooper always a mystery. I anxiously await more.
