How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsWe love Allstate Protection Plans in our household
Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2021
It seems like on every Allstate Protection Plan listing on Amazon there are people giving the plans one stars saying they never got anything. I think that most people expect to receive a physical contract in the mail. That is not how Allstate Protection Plans work. They e-mail you the plan after it's purchased.

It can take several days to receive the plan via e-mail. It will be sent to the e-mail address that is associated with your Amazon account. Check your spam folder if you did not receive your protection plan.

If you still don't find your plan, go into your orders and send the seller a message. Allstate will receive the message and resend your plan to you right away. They will also do this if you lose your plan.

Your plan is automatically registered to your e-mail address. You can then visit the Allstate Protection Plan website and sign in or create an account where you can manage all of your protection plans in one place.

Once you've logged in you need to upload a copy of your receipt for the product you bought not the protection plan receipt. Allstate will keep track of your receipt for as long as you have your protection plan. You also can rename your plan so you can find it easily in the future.

We purchased this 4 year auto accessory protection plan for an air compressor that we bought that inflates car tires. It's a name brand product but the reviews were 50/50 on it's quality so we decided that it was worth purchasing a protection plan for it, the protection plan was under $7 for 4 years.

We have been using Allstate Protection Plans for years, back when they were still called Square Trade. The plans still work the same way, they are just under the Allstate name now. You can file a claim 24 hours a day on their website, by phone, or using their mobile app. The website uses 2 step authentication.

The great thing about Allstate Protection Plans is that they will repair your item (if it's the type of item that they repair) or they will reimburse you for the cost of your item so you can replace it. If they can repair it they will send you a prepaid box, repair it, and send it back to you for free.

There are no additional costs with Allstate Protection Plans and there are no deductibles. It doesn't matter if your product broke because of a manufacturer defect or because of a malfunction, Allstate will cover the problem.

They are also a huge help when manufacturer's don't honor their warranty's. If your item is under a manufacturer's warranty and the manufacturer won't fix or replace the item Allstate will fix or reimburse you for the item.

If the manufacturer requires you to ship your product to them for repairs Allstate will even reimburse you for the shipping. They truly have you covered in every possible direction. You can transfer the warranty to another person at any time.

Allstate also offers a full refund within 30 days of purchase and a prorated refund any time during your warranty period if you are dissatisfied with your warranty for any reason.

Our household currently has 20 Allstate Protection Plans. They range from small appliances like our Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer to large appliances like portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and washing machines.

In the past they have fixed laptop computers multiple times, including when I accidentally broke the screen killing a spider. They've paid us for a damaged external hard drive. They have never denied a warranty claim and we feel confident having our electronics covered by their protection plans.

1.0 out of 5 starsScam Alert, misleading at best
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2022
Totally misleading, and feels like a scam. I spent $7 for an extended warranty for a $40 part, primarily because of Allstate's clearly stated claim of "No additional costs for repairs - parts, labor, and shipping are all included" in the product description.

Well, that's a straight up lie. Turns out, the part I bought failed and I needed a repair. Luckily, I have a warranty, right?! Well, what they don't tell you is that their warranty liability is only up to the value of the part, so in my case, $40. I'm pretty sure any tech will charge you at least that $40 just to look at it, so the warranty basically is almost worthless in my case. Seriously, why would anyone spend $7 to save $40? Insurance, in general, is to offset significant loss, not to get $33 net back, but alas, they want to fight me on this so my options were either (1) get $40 back or (2) cancel the warranty and get $7 back. What a deal!

This seems like the opposite of "you are in good hands with Allstate". What a rip off.

When you're paying for an insurance policy on an item. You should receive documentation stating the dates of coverage and what exactly is being covered. First I tried to track it it says it's on its way. Then I get a message saying it will be delivered late. That Never Comes the email has no detail whatsoever no dates of coverage no item being covered descriptions basically they take your money but you have no proof Alf insurance. Save your money looks like a scam if it quacks like a duck and Walks Like A Duck it's a duck
