This Box Set contains three books in this series. Titles include: Veil Rising, Backlash Rising, and Alliance Rising. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what you’ll find in this collection.
*** Reviewing “VEIL RISING (THE STAR GUILD SAGA - BOOK 1)” ***
The Veil Rising is the first book in “The Star Guild Saga” series. I enjoyed the story line that had good pacing to keep the reader’s interest up. Humans had been stolen from Earth and put into mines to work for aliens, their minds wiped to keep them from questioning or trying to break the cycle. When some find memories coming back, there might be hope for regaining freedom. There is not much time left, however, and archaeologist Ali Johnson needs to remember more about herself and the horrible figure that torments her in dreams.
It’s exciting to follow the twists and turns to see how everything will play out. The story is intriguing and raises lots of questions. And with this excellent set, you can read Books 1-3 at your leisure!
Great series! I have enjoyed this other writers works such as the martian plague series and the Atlantis series, which I recommend. This series steps up with more intimate view of some of his characters from his original Star Guild series, which he refreshed here. This makes the series feel like a different series, and a huge improvement. It has strong human female leads such as Ali, Eden that overcome some strong incredible odds. The series deals with a portal to an advanced solar system run by the tyrannical Annuki, which the main character Ali is transported to. She is mind wiped and convinced she is from Eos, a planet that has poisonous gas, and mines in a Mech. Much is uncovered about this planet, conspiracies keeping the humans under control by the Annuki. Read this series, it's full of action adventure, and incredible character development!
I can't seem to find my review for book one, but here is my review for book 3! Obviously I like it.
Brandon Ellis – Alliance Rising
A good ending to the saga – and room for further adventures if inspiration strikes but the action is hot, the good guys good, the bad guys not, sadly many of the characters die but then what else is expected? The big question, is earth saved? I’ll leave for you to find out! If you have been reading all along you won’t be disappointed. Buy it!
This is a well-thought-out archaeologist inspired story with a thousand-year-old back story. Enslaved humans living and working in space, with no recollection of the Earth they were stolen away from. Mining ore on a far-flung planet, living and dying while under the thumb of a "Master Race" in an unnatural society that they are slowly starting to understand is not the real path that they should be on. This spark of rebellion caused by one Admiral, his fleet trapped and soon to be destroyed, sends out a distress message to the mythical "Space Templars." To his surprise the Space Templars arrive and save what is left of his fleet, utterly destroying the attacking ships. This is where the story really starts to build momentum.
Get ready for the read of a weekend. This series was amazing. It had suspense, mystery, an unexplained battle that starts out the series and a fight for their lives. The characters were amazing and fun to read as the main good guys try to survive and figure out what is going on. And the secrets and reveals kept me glued to the end. Would Ali figure it all out? How did her weird dreams of a place called Earth line up with the Star Guild. What was really going on was a great story and kept me glued to the end. I loved the nonstop danger and intrigue. I was rooting for Ali to figure it all out and not die along the way. Just a great Space Opera with all the action and intrigue I could want.

An awesome story of how an alien race has been kidnapping and enslaving humans for centuries! They found the one thing that worked. Keep them dumb and downtrodden. When someone from Earth accidentally stumbles upon the secret, can they keep everyone in line? Great read! I received advanced reader copies free and have voluntarily chosen to leave honest reviews of these books individually.
As the name implies, this "Boxed Set" contains the 3 novels that make up the /Star Guild Saga/. Prior to obtaining the boxed set, I had already read the first book in the series, and wanted to read the rest. The books are set in the 1940s, but mostly take place off-world in technologically advanced settings. While it is possible to read a single book in the series and enjoy it, you might as well go for the gusto and get the boxed set so that you can enjoy it all in one reading. If you read book one, you're going to want to read books 2 and 3, anyway.
A pandemic lock-down is the perfect time for an engrossing universe spanning, mankind enslaving and periodic purging conspiracy action adventure series, and The Star Guild Saga definitely delivers. I’ve loved every book in this set and am happy to highly recommend them.
I've reviewed these books individually, and are full of action, wonderful characters and the most vile of villains, with a bit of human history thrown in. This set of books are great way to get to know Brandon's style of writing and read some great sci-fi.
