USE PROPERLY FOR SAFETY!!

Great booster for a child that has outgrown the 5 point harness type. Please, recheck your seat's weight/height/age limits on a regular basis to ensure that you are using the appropriate carseat/booster. I would also like to address a serious SAFETY CONCERN! In reading reviews here, I couldn't help but notice 2 reviewers pictures of IMPROPER/UNSAFE use!! I'm posting a screen shot, in hopes that others don't make the same mistake. The one reviewer was unhappy with the uncomfortable position her child was in while sleeping in this booster seat. IF it's used PROPERLY, the child is perfectly comfortable.

No padding when seat is raised for taller children

I was very disappointed in this booster. When you raise the seat for taller children there is zero padding on the lower back. Very poor design. I had to tuck a shirt in back so it didn’t bother my sons back. Also very little padding in the seat of the booster. I will be returning this and buying another brand. Too bad as it’s lightweight and good for travel. Just too uncomfortable for my son. Evenflo should put additional padding for extended part or make the booster extend under the headrest like the Graco model

I posted a review of the Chicco Kidfit that compares the two. I bought them both after researching booster review sites that recommended them as top picks (and affordable). It was rated a top pick by Consumer Reports, which is one of the top reasons I tried it out. I was really excited for this as it was significantly cheaper in price than the Chicco Kidfit. However, after taking it out of the box I immediately noticed it had significantly less padding and felt significantly cheaper in quality. Some of the drawbacks are:
Cup holder is not enclosed, its merely a cut-out with a strap so liquid can leak onto the car seat and it can't hold snacks
Thin padding
No latching option
Uncomfortable arm rests

However, the Evenflo did hold the seat belt better than the Chicco did. The shoulder strap guide was better and the seat belt didn't come out nearly as often. The recline option was a little easier to use as well. However, you have to understand that when it comes to this stuff, you get what you pay for. If I was on a tighter budget, I would have kept this booster. However, I ended up returning it and getting a 2nd Chicco.

Flimsy "Head/Side/Back Protection", Returned. NOT great for travel!

I ordered this seat as a travel booster for my 6 year old because I wanted a light weight, hard back booster with side/head protection. My daughter is still in a Britax 5 point harness in my vehicle. This arrived yesterday and as soon as I unboxed it, I realized how thin and cheaply made this seat is. The plastic head/back protection is easily bent by hand. I can't imagine this will provide much protection in an accident. I went off the high reviews and I'm sorry I did. The bottom booster seems sturdy on it's own, but it's way too wide to be considered a travel booster. The seat is very lightly padded and uncomfortable. If you're used to a nicer, high end seat for your child, this seat isn't going to cut it.

No LATCH, so booster seat MUST be buckled by itself even when empty

I feel like I failed a bit when doing my research on booster seats. After checking reviews (particularly Consumer Reports, where this was #1) I never encountered this crucial piece of information: if your booster seat does not have LATCH connectors to keep it secured when unoccupied, you MUST buckle it in (the empty seat, by itself) after your child gets out of it. Without doing so, this seat can become a projectile in the cabin during an accident. In our case, it could hit the driver or the 5-month old baby in the next seat over. I looked through tons of reviews seeing if any of them mention this, but didn't find a single one. And sure enough, there's a single, easy to miss line in the seat instructions mentioning that the empty seat must be buckled in. How many people miss that information?

I don't know why I didn't think of that before buying this seat, but that's definitely an annoying extra hassle that you have to deal with, several times a day, for years on end. Easy solution? I returned these seats and bought two of the (more expensive) Chicco booster seats, which have LATCH connectors. You still have to use the vehicle belt to hold your child in the seat, but now when they get out you don't have to re-buckle the seat itself.

Lasted 2.5 years so far!

We have 3 kids 5 and under and fitting them all in the car with car seats is difficult, especially in a Toyota Highlander. However, this seat is the narrowest booster we could find and it worked! We put the oldest between the two younger and it fits!

I like the shoulder strap hooks to keep the strap in a good kid-friendly spot. And the elastic cup is excellent, much better than I thought it would be.

The top adjusts height and is a little wobbly, but that's the only negative I have found. Great booster so far.

Update:
I have had my first for 2.5 years now and bought another. They are still great and very durable!

Great Booster!

So this Evenflo amp high-back booster seat is not exactly what I expected but it worked perfectly for my six-year-old granddaughter. She can actually get in and out of it and her weight keeps it stabilized. I mean I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who's technically too small to ride in a booster seat. I did keep the back on it even though she doesn't necessarily need it. I just felt like it added more security and stability although you can remove the back and use it just as a single underwear. The one thing I really like about it is that it's easy to get in and out of the vehicle and it positions perfectly regardless of whether I had her on one of the side seats in the back or whether I had her in the center in the back and even though it looks really big it still allows enough space to accommodate people on either side of it so it allows for the three people in the backseat. I would definitely recommend this booster seat.

I needed to purchase a booster seat for my 5 year old since she outgrew her car seat. I first bought the regular booster but after seeing the high-back booster I ended up purchasing that instead since I believe it offers more coverage and protection for my child. After assembling which takes less than 5 minutes there is no installation required. You just simply place the high-back booster in the seat where your child will be sitting and buckle them in with the seat belt passing the belt through the belt anchor. I love that the back is adjustable and will grow with my little girl until she’s 110 lbs. or we can simply remove the back is desired. She loves the pretty pink flower design, arm rests and cup holders. It looks just as pictured. I will purchase another for my other daughter when she transitions out of her car seat. I highly recommend.

Flimsy, but does the job

Its very light, easy to assemble. But overall the quality leaves things to be desired, and its quite flimsy. For example, the soft covers are not very good fit and require tugging and stuff.

The back wobbles and feels it may break.
That said, its not a car seat, but a booster, so for that purpose its adequate, esp with the current 25$ price. If you need a budget booster with back, go for it.
