I have now read the five books that are available in the series. I like the story and the creativity that is gone into the series. The problem I found with all of the books is that the author belabors the tragic life of the main character and all of his indecision and all of the reasons why he's undecided throughout the series. It goes on and on and gets in the way of the action so I have to skim over page after page after page and it gets tiresome.
Although I had to remove some words or rearrange others in order for the information to make sense, the Catalyst series has been an exciting yet thought provoking read. I look forward to reading more from C.J. Aaron

I am finding a theme in series like this where the books are overall well-written and incredibly interesting... and then book five or six rolls around and is completely different. Why are we stuck in Ryl's head, with no action, endless unasked questions and isolation until the end of the book??? I hope the next book returns to its former style of writing with good dialogue, action and a plot.
I read a couple of reviews before I bought the first two books in the series, the reviews all said that the books are ‘page turner’s’ or ‘once you start you can’t put it down’, and I can safely say they are all those, the storyline is set at a great pace and the characters are well written, I found out that the final book isn’t due until 2022, I can’t wait 😝
Read a!l the books in the series and enjoyed this one. Although a bit long winded in places. Also felt the ending could have been a bit more dramatic! Hope there is going to be another one in the seriies,as I have a feeling the story is not quite over yet. Look forward to reading it.
Whilst I have loved this series, I felt slightly let down with this one. The second half of the book was brilliant, and I couldnt put it down. But the first half....... I really struggled with it. Simply put - nothing happened. I just about gave up, but persevered, and am glad that I did, as it then packed all the punches and left you wanting more.
