Ugggghhhhhh!!!!! That ending!!!! Why?????? Ok wtf Demi!!!!!!! Wtactualf!!!! Sooo you will go to the Wild lands for their help when Sawyer needs it..... but when two .... TWO of your own people RISK their lives to tell you that thousands of ppl will die and magic will be lost if you don’t go and be alpha and you just brush that ish off and instead send provisions which might or might not or made it with all the crap happening.... anyways back to point in hand you just brush them off one of those ppl you know to be genuine and instead continue to plan to get married. But when ish hits the fan you wanna run to the wilds and get their help! News flash! They are not about to take it well that you would leave them to die just to get married!! Ugggh I am soooo disappointed in her decisions in this book ... ok rant over lol Love this series! As you can tell I’m completely invested in these characters. Been cussing Demi out almost the whole end part of the book lol

The first book really pulled me in. I think I actually read it 3 separate times while waiting for the second book to release. It feels like the author is really reaching. Sawyer is way too much of a wimpy cry baby to be an alpha wolf. Not saying that alphas don’t have emotions just that this alpha basically cried this entire book. Then there was the fact that Demi goes through this traumatic experience and then just goes back to school like it ain’t a thing. I REALLY wanted to like this series but I this is the end of the line for me. Book 3 isn’t even slightly intriguing after this catastrophe.

This story had potential, but it was corny, with too much "teen hormones" for my liking. They were supposed to be young adults, but acted like hormonal teenagers. Made me feel yucky reading some of the love scenes tbh.

But I'm having a hard time. There is too much plot and not enough story. I feel like we are missing a lot of stuff that happened off page.

The story was swift, not that descriptive, and just not a fantastic read.
Spoiler alert
One of the most annoying things I found about the second book was how the main character was written.
The main character finds out her grandfather is the one that saved her after shefalls down the mountain. But after she learns that her grandfather and her father's people are in need and they are without an alpha, and going hungry, her only response is, I’m getting married. I know this is fictional but the selfishness of this character made this story so annoying. Because only after her fiancé's people need help themselves does she go to her father's people. So she can get tit for tat. The main characters thought process was all you’re dying are you gonna lose your magic that’s fine let me give you some blankets and food you’ll be fine. But now the wolf communities people are in danger let me come and be an alpha so I can take your people to fight an a war that has nothing to do with them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Went down hill after book one

Book one was a 3 star for me and this one was just annoying.
First of all she comes off younger than 20 she reads like a 15 year old girl would act. In this book Demi comes off weak and needs saving, along with Sawyers constant reassurance which is just ugh. This book had potential but fell short and the dialogue between Sawyer and Demi when she was taking (again lol) was irritating to read, I think if he would have been more reassuring then "Demi, I am so sorry blah, blah, blah" then it would have been better. When you like the side characters better than the MC that tells you the writer didn't build her characters well enough.

I was so looking forward to this one !! The characters were a bit different in this round . Started off great then it was just all over the place. A lot happening but not really any detail or weight to it. She goes through pretty traumatic events then it’s super mushy “yeah of course I forgive you” then back to whining!! PHEW .. Book one was AMAZING ! I’m hoping book 3 is better !

I am over here feeling completely bummed out.

😑😑😑😑😑😑

💎💎The coolest thing about this book was the bejewelled sneakers. 💎💎

I have been so excited about this book. Did I love the first? No. But it still had the power to draw me in. (I even pre-ordered, and this girl rarely does that!) And I wanted to know what happened so badly, because the first cliffhanger lay the grounds to some heavy drama and hurt.
And that’s my late night snack.
Which were completely and utterly ignored. I feel cheated😭

Stone does not lack imagination and yet I can’t put my finger on the exact “issue” I have with how the story went, or how the world building is.
Something just seems “off”. Maybe I get to little info? Maybe I am just not buying it? Maybe I just need things better explained🤔

Not to mention I just can’t with these characters.
I can’t get my head around Sawyer being such a good alpha when he runs head first into things and starts killing. I actually will go so far to find him whiny. I don’t see him “being in control” or “being strategic”, or even being “alpha”. I just see him lash out and scream at Demi to forgive him.
Like what?
And Demi? Why wasn’t she FURIOUS! Oh no, she was busy passing out all book, that’s right. Ok, that was low. Sorry. 😫 But didn’t she just pass out so much? I got super annoyed by it. Yes, yes, she was hurt a lot, but why keep ending scenes that way. It seems is little “easy”. Okay, I just found out what my issue with it was. It was repetitive. That’s right, I nailed it. Boom.

Another big trigger for me was how their bond could keep being repressed, BY OTHERS. Will someone explain to me how this works? Does the bond only work when there is wifi? I seriously want to know. 😱
Oh, and if the wolves in Wolf City were so powerful and respected why do they keep being surprise attacked?
I have so many questions😭

Why did she go “back to school”, when a WAR was brewing?
Why?
Just why?😫😫😫

Maybe I had way too high hopes for this book. I wanted to be wowed. I wanted to love this story so much, but I didn’t.

2.0 out of 5 stars Feeling skippy today

I literally read every page of the last book until she kissed some rando she thought was Sawyer and his first thought was “you played me” like everything they’ve been through and said to each other never happened *eyeroll*. That’s when I knew I hated Sawyer. I didn’t even read the last few pages of the last book after that and skipped straight through the second book to see if he has the nerve to whine and beg for forgiveness after his stupidity. Andddd of course Demi once again forgives him like he didn’t completely betray her trust, broke her heart and humiliate her in front of everyone. She didn’t even take time to think about it he literally asked and 2 second later he’s forgiven. Wtf. How unrealistic can you be. Their relationship feels pretty toxic at this point. He does something totally unforgivable and then whines about it for a second and she’s putty in his hands. Sawyer is weak af. Demi is weak af. And I’m not talking physically. For a couple who knew they were true mates from the first time they saw each other they were super quick to break it up. Sawyer is basically at fault for letting his father die because had he allowed Demi to be her true self she would have been able to save the alpha. Also, when they are reunited Sawyer says there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Demi but when she needs him to let her go to “her people” for help he refuses and then has the gall to look betrayed. Will I be reading the third book? No, but I will be skipping to the last few pages to see how it ends.

Just like the first book, this one was well written, and had a very interesting plot. However, I also like the first one, this one is not a full book. My recommendation? Wait for the whole series to be finished and then settle in for a binge read.
