How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat book

I can tell that the writer took time to really analyze a lot of things that could have simply been overlooked; in other words, the book was very detailed.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot bad, not good
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 28, 2023
Different popular ideas/theories/practices wrapped up and bundled together.

It's not bad, but there's nothing spectacular.

Felt like I was reading a an undergraduate thesis.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid Patrick King

I made a mistake of buying multiple self published books, coincidentally they all came from the same
guy, Patrick King. I was puzzled such the books received good reviews on Amazon.

What upset me was the messiness of the layout and structure. It has numerous incorrect headline styles and make it difficult to read. If you look at the index page you will have a feeling is a 1997 word document.

The contents have no much value either. No scientific evidence to back up any data he shared. He just relay information he read somewhere else.

I did a quick check on the author. I suspect pushing self publishing books is his business model.

It’s a shame that Amazon allows low quality books exist.

Reviews misleading in my opinion. Not very well written. No citations or references. Poor self-published quality. Should have taken a closer look before purchasing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice attempt?

This book hurts to read. Shouldn’t have purchased as it is self published and the numerous spelling errors shows it. Hope Patrick king uses my $13.99 wisely. I will most likely use this book as kindling for my next camp fire as it has no other practical use.

1.0 out of 5 stars More like - how to buy a book that compiles old, common axiomatic practices. No value.

Gosh I should’ve known better but the large set of great reviews fooled me. Don’t buy this - you won’t get out of it what the title promises, just a dull series of chapters (which is why you can speed read the sucker on an airplane flight) so the author tells you about a lot of others’ recommended ways to. Common stuff most adults know by now. Self published? Left it on the plane because I couldn’t burn it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a reliable or researched piece (that is kind)
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 18, 2022

I got to page 21. There is no editing and no research. The formatting alone (flagrant italicizing of statements that vaguely reference a “source”) is indicative that this author is just a person with good instincts and enough resources to take it to print, not a well researched and objectively actionable work of literature.

Very hard to even read the book the publishing quality was so bad. There are weird gaps between words, typos, grammatical errors and spelling errors.

The book is self-published and it shows- the author doesn't seem at all credible. A scam.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF PAPER
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 1, 2022

This book is trash. Its self published, self edited, and self researched. I felt like I was reading a slightly illiterate 11th grader’s psychology paper. I found myself making grammatical correction every 5 words.
The information is repetitive and non-conclusive. The author’s writing style is too irritating to take it seriously.
I made the mistake of only reading the first three reviews on here. Dont be like me. Dont spend your money on this worthless, mess of a book.. DO NOT BUY.

1.0 out of 5 stars Written by someone smarterthan you.

This book is written in easy-to-understand American English, yet the writer recaps all his advice by saying, "In laymen's terms"... Over and over... and he rephrases for us dummy readers (aka laymen). I felt so offended and the material is akin to a publication of how to win friends in 2nd grade.

I put it down without a second thought. You will, too.
