This book opens by examining the unique challenges women face as they enter their 50s. The author then moves into what intermittent fasting is. I liked that the author gave equal attention to both the benefits and drawbacks of IF. I think anyone who chooses a new lifestyle or diet should be informed about both the positives and negatives of that choice. The author then examines the different types of IF there is (16/8, 14/10, etc). I had no idea there were so many different kinds. I liked that the author does not advocate or promote one over another. Instead the author provides info on each one and encourages the reader to find the one that best fits their life and needs. I would recommend this book.to anyone interested in the IF lifestyle.
For women, intermittent fasting can be dangerous health wise, not have any effect at all, or maybe just the thing you need to start losing weight. At any rate, always check with your healthcare provider first, before starting sny new dietary changes, specially when it may include restrictions. This book tells you what intermittent dieting is, what it's all about and the best, safest and healthiest ways to go about it.
One of the most dangerous things that women do while trying to lose weight is that they ignore the importance of their hormonal health. One of the most significant differences between men and women is the way their bodies treat food. The body of a man doesn’t attach too much significance to food. For men, food is just a way to survive. This is in stark contrast to the way the body of a woman treats food. For women, food means much more than simple survival; it is connected to their hormonal balance.
As a woman ages we tend to gain weight, due to hormonal changes. This book explains how intermittent fasting will help you lose weight and how to solve some health issues you may have .It has tips and tricks to help you along the way .Intermittent fasting is restricting meal times, reducing snacking ,or cutting out eating for a day or two.The main focus is to eat less and eat less often . I think I will be giving this diet a try.
Some of the problems with intermittent fasting is dehydration and leptin imbalance . Since the recommendation in this program is to only eat during an 8 hour window and fast the remaining 16, imbalance are possible. You also need to consider your eating habits. If you’re a snacker, the 16/8 isn’t going to work.you need to plan and schedule according to your eating habits.
Select a method of fasting that meets your needs and requirements. You don’t have to make drastic changes; you merely need to be mindful of when you eat. If you eat healthy and wholesome meals during the eating window will see an improvement in your health.
As women get older, hormonal health becomes increasingly more important as more time goes on. Food is so much more than filling the hunger void for women, it is also connected to balancing our hormones. So if we eat the wrong foods all the time, then we will have a tendency to be in a more foul mood.
This author has no credentials it seems and no online presence that I could find. She may not even exist as there is absolutely nothing about the author in the book but a name. The writing style is what some high school student might turn out for a book report on a subject they had no interest in so they scanned the internet for snippets to cobble together to, possibly, avoid failing the course; the result is barely literate and resembles machine-generated filler. It's pathetic. I gave it one star only because I was unable to submit a review with none. If I was this author's English teacher I would fail her.
