Billy does not have a boring life. He gets to go to college a year early His classes in general still are not as rewarding as he had hoped. His house mates are more into partying than studying. He gets A class at Harvard he has to commute to and ends up with another group of friends. And a love interest. He still is concerned with the marine life on his island and how one company is affecting it. When s bomb goes off at that facility things gets dangerous and Billy has to do the FBI work for them again. Last in the series fir now looking forward to when smother one dies come out
After I read Rockpool 3, Gregg Dunnett said he would take a break from writing about Billy for a while. I was disappointed but then excited to see there was going to be a 4th one sooner than I had anticipated. I just finished this and it was good to see Billy again. Boy, he just can't seem to keep himself out of trouble. It was great reading about his growth, yet he remains entirely himself. He is a really good kid and I love reading his thought processes. I also loved seeing Amber again and love their friendship. This book had me alternately laughing and biting my nails from the tension! The author says there will eventually be more books and I will impatiently awaiting the next part of Billy's story.
I love every one of this series. Billy Wheatley! He always manages to get himself involved with some kind of craziness! This author always makes me happy with just the right amount of humor, suspense, and thrill! I pick one of these up and I can’t quit til I’m finished! Dang it, now what am I going to read?
Billy Wheatley is a most unlikely hero, but I've been a fan since I downloaded the first book in the series. His social awkwardness and unusual take on the world are refreshing. He calls things as he sees them. Naivety gets him in real trouble this time, and the way he gets out of me enormously. I've read some other Gregg Dunnett offerings, and eagerly look forward to everything he has in store for his readers in future.
Dunnett has done it again. He brings Billy Wheatley alive to continue his journey through his world. Billy is such a fascinating character and never ceases to exhibit his intellectual maturity. This is a character I could follow forever. I enjoy his falling into predicament after predicament and always extracting himself using his experience and superior knowledge. I couldn’t put it down and ended up going way past my normal bedtime.
I absolutely loved this book. Billy Wheatley, the subject character has been getting into interesting "messes" since the first novel, and always seems to end up okay. I seriously had my doubts about a good outcome on this one, but i loved the way the story unfolded and kept you guessing. I also appreciate the author's views on conservation of our mother earth's resources. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the Rock Pool series.
I've enjoyed each of the now four books in Mr. Dunnett's Rockpool series. His narrative abilities put you right in the middle of the action. His characters are finely crafted. The stories are solidly thought out. Start with the first book and you'll be hooked!
This was a great book. It takes Billy Wheatley from his home on an island to being a student at Boston University. While a bit bored with his introductory courses since he already knows the material, he gets caught up in a murder mystery. With his incredible computer skills let’s hope Billy can somehow combine his love of Marine Biology with those skills.
