Shane is attempting to escape his well meaning friends and family to recover from his recent fall from a roof so he rents a cabin for a month. The next door neighbor and caretaker is sexy as sin Delilah. After being deserted by their father Delilah was left to raise her brother and she has been doing a very remarkable job doing so doing all kinds of odd jobs and working in a bar to help get him through college. She also knows that no man 'sees' past what she looks like. It doesn't take Shane long to realize that Delilah needs help with repairs on her own cabin and takes it upon himself to do them. He also sees beyond Delilah looks though he fights against the notion that they could have a real relationship. Is is going to be able to work through his own jaded past of having a father as a bigamist to realize that what Delilah and he could have? Throw in the rest of the 7-Stud Club members as they track him down and offer great advice along the way and this is an awesome read.
Shane and Delilah are just perfect for each other. She is such a sweet woman, she is beautiful in a very seductive way. She understands that men think of her in a “mistress” kind of way but she’s holding out for her forever love. Shane is still trying to get over his fall that put him in a coma. He doesn’t tell anyone in his family his problems since the accident, he’s hiding from them. He only feels good with Delilah. Such a great story.
Once again Christie Ridgway swept me off to the coast of southern California in a hot, fulfilling romance. Shane is recovering from a fall from a roof that damaged his psyche as much as his body. He is still trying to find his balance when he decides to retreat to a cabin in the woods. But instead of solitude he discovers a blonde bombshell who lights his fuse. She is not really his type, but he finds it hard to resist. And how can she ignore the handyman who moves in next door and starts to fix everything that's broken in her world? Thanks, Christie.

I enjoyed reading Smooth Call by Christie Ridgway, book six in her 7-Card Stud series. It is a wonderful, sizzling story focusing on family, friendship, sizzling chemistry, and magnetic attraction between Shane Rodriguez and Delilah Flynn.
After his near death fall from a rooftop, Shane needs time, quiet time, to recover; renting a cabin in the woods to help him recover because his family and friends are driving him crazy with their concern for him. He hasn’t told anyone that he now has a fear of heights so he doesn’t know if he will be able to go back to work even though he has physically, made a full recovery. The caretaker for his cabin is Delilah who lives next door. Delilah has been responsible for herself and her younger brother since she was quite young; working several jobs, looking after the cabin, tailoring and alterations, babysitting, and waitressing at a local bar, in order to send her brother to college. Shane is very attracted to and protective of her, but because of circumstances having to do with his family history, he has always made it a point not to get emotionally involved with anyone. But, Delilah is everything that Shane’s exes weren't. She might look like a blonde bombshell but underneath she's been burned badly; wearing the persona that's expected but deep down she's all heart, loyal and hard working. Shane sees the real her and the attraction grows to the point where he can no longer do nothing. He might give in, but believes it can’t be more that a causal fling. Between the strong magnetism and off the charts, scorching chemistry, Delilah might just hold the key to Shane’s heart; opening it to love
Ms. Ridgway is a wonderful story teller who wrote an emotionally rich and moving story filled with sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and endearing characters that is definitely not to be missed. I truly enjoyed watching the relationship between these two grow and seeing Shane toss all those resumes and headbands away and falling for the delectable Delilah, who is truly his match. I highly recommend Smooth Call to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Shane Rodiguez is a successful businessman and a well known all around good guy. He is friends with his ex girlfriends, which he totally has a type, the safe kind, and is never one to ripple the waters, he is a smooth talker and peace keeper. That is until his fall off of a roof that left him in a coma for a few days and him not feeling like himself anymore after that fall.
Shane decides he needs to escape everyone and rents a cottage out of town for a month during the slow time at work and tries to get his head on straight. Little did he know that a small, buxom blonde bombshell will be the one to safe him and help him get his life back into order.
Delilah is a woman on a mission to get her brother through college any way she can and to keep a roof over her head. Ever since her father ran out on them, she has been the one to take care of her and her brother. She works many jobs and does what she can. She helps manage a cottage next door to hers that gets rented out and the new renter has definitely caught her eye. But she is not the type to do flings, or so she thought....maybe.
Delilah and Shane have a rocky relationship, lots of pull and push of the emotions. There were times I was really not happy with Shane and the things he said that were almost belittling to Delilah, and she seemed to make excuses for him and accept it, that part I did not like so much of their relationship. However, in the end he seems to see the errors of his ways and smartens up and realizes that he could have a forever if he gets his act together.
Overall a good addition to the series, not my favorite, but happy to see Shane get his happily ever after and with someone that he would not normally be with that pushes all his buttons. Can't wait for Hart's book to come out!

This is book 6 in the 7-Stud Club series. This may be my favorite of all. Shane Rodriguez and his brother own a roofing company and Shane took a bad fall off a roof prior to the start of the book. The trauma put him in a coma for a short time and he has problems with the after effects of his injuries. He decides he needs peace and quiet so he rents a cabin in the woods to help him recover because his family and friends are driving him crazy with their concern for him. He hasn’t told anyone he also now has a fear of heights so he doesn’t know if he will be able to go back to work even though he has, physically, made a full recovery. The caretaker for his cabin is Delilah who lives nearby. Delilah has been responsible for herself and her younger brother since she was quite young. She works several jobs in addition to looking after the cabin in order to put her brother through college. One of her jobs is waitressing in a bar. Her centerfold type appearance causes some of the customers to get the wrong impression of her and a number of ‘situations’ are complicated by this. Shane is very attracted to her but, for reasons having to do with his family history, has always made it a point not to get emotionally involved with anyone. This is a really good book and I can’t wait for the last one (except that I don’t want it to be the last one).

I am really enjoying this series all these guys are swoon worthy! Shane is the mildest, the voice of reason for the group, that is until he took a big fall, it changed him. Taking some time off during the slow season Shane is trying to find his new self, how he's going to go back to work when the fall off the roof has made him apprehensive to going back up there. He's always been able to keep himself out of a relationship, fun and done kind of guy staying friends with his exes. Then came Delilah, everything that his exes weren't, at first glance she looks like a sex kitty, a blonde bombshell but underneath she's been burned badly and she puts on the persona that's expected but deep down she's all heart, loyal and herd working. Shane sees the real her and the attraction grows to the point he can do nothing but give in but he doesn't feel he can do more that a causal fling...But Delilah's heart can open Shane's locked one. Fun humor, sweet feels along with heavy ones, healing, and great family/friends that make this an engaging, entertaining read.

This addition to this Ridgway series is based around of group of poker playing friends. It finds one of the members, Shane, moving into a cabin in the woods to try to regroup after an injury that has everyone he knows driving him crazy with concern. He needs something else to think about besides his inability to climb up on a roof to do his job again after his recovery. His sexy, built like a brick outhouse neighbor certainly gives him something else to think about!
Delilah is barely getting by. She is working multiple low-level jobs so that she can help put her brother through college because they've been on their own for years. She's up front about her attraction to Shane, but is totally thrown when he keeps wanting to fix her rundown house and her beater car. Could he be into more than just her big chest?
This wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was still good. Ridgway's characters are always interesting and lots of fun! I love fun!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

After his near death fall from a rooftop, Shane Rodriguez needs time, quiet time to recover. Renting a cabin in the woods was a great idea until he saw her, Delilah Jane Flynn, his neighbor. Delilah raised her younger brother Seth when their father deserted them. Working at a local bar, Delilah knows what people think when they see her, blonde and built, but that isn’t who she is. Delilah rocks Shane’s world as he feels “in lust” as well as protective of her. He tries to stay away, but every time he ends up even closer to her. The feelings he still harbors for his father, the bigamist, has influenced his belief in love and marriage – it is not for him. He hasn’t been able to get back on to a roof, but when an emergency requires that he so do, will he be able to confront his fear? Another exceptional and beautiful love story in the 7-Club series…two individuals who had to become adults before their time. Loved Shane and Delilah's story. After Shane spent a week in a coma from a fall off a building, he needed some peace and quiet, so he rented a cabin in the woods. Delilah was the caretaker of the cabin and his neighbor. Her mom died when she was young from cancer and her father left her to raise and homeschool her brother and herself. She now works as a waitress at a bar and does other odd jobs just to get her brother thru college. Shane didn't want a relationship cause his father was a bigamist, Delilah just wants someone to love her for herself not her body. Their connection was instant. Her cabin was an accident waiting to happen, so he took it upon himself to repair things. As he spent more time with her, they found they couldn't deny their attraction. The love scenes were hot. Their road to love will not disappoint. I highly recommend this book and this series. I cannot wait for the next book. I received an ARC copy and this is my voluntary review.
