5.0 out of 5 starsAction, Suspense, Intrigue with a Simmer to Sizzle Relationship

This book opens with Daisy Squires confronting powers that be at the US Embassy in Afghanistan and demanding to know the status on negotiations to get her father out of captivity. They obviously haven't done their homework and she lets them have it before walking out demanding a progress update the following day.
Chief Petty Officer Leo Perez was observing the exchange and loved the way Daisy pretty much handed them there arses. Leo left after her yet beat her to her hotel and there over tea and then lunch he asked his own questions.
He gets a lot of information from her, most notably that her father frequently pisses off everyone to do what he thinks is the right thing. What he has done in this case is truly a death sentence for him.
When he gives his report to the team they are amused at her gumption. Then later they are more than a little impressed when she slips her CIA tail.
With new intel the guys go after Ethan Squires, but it doesn't pan out. Things ramp up as their window of opportunity grows shorter.
Aside from the rescue, Leo also wants to see where things will go with Daisy. Unfortunately she dives into work and manages to avoid him. I really love the persistence.
Lots of action, suspense and intrigue and a simmer to sizzle relationship.
