Sic transit gloria mundi

This book was awful.
The mysterious, hidden in the shadows archvillain was finally revealed. Exciting, what? Quite the opposite, it was trite. If the author still had had a reserve of inventiveness he would have used that character for something of greater interest. Likewise with another long lasting individual that Nuttall killed off.
Well, I’m not quite fair. After all, a machine can’t be expected to encompass unlimited reserves of human imagination. What? Oh, yes, I forgot to clarify.
The entity called Nuttall is not human, but a machine that goes chug, chug – bop! Chug, chug – thunk! Dropping a new book every other week, or so it seems.
I enjoyed Emily’s adventures up to and including Future Tense. From the on the series started to slide down the drain, like series almost always do. I kept on reading ‘cause I’m a stubborn idiot, but this case of chug, chug – dud! was too much.
Good by, Emily.
