This Is Just Bad

First, I love Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Trials of Apollo...I have read Rick Riordan many times so this isn't a new author for me. It feels like this book was ghost-written by someone else, and RR gave his stamp of approval without actually reading it. The characters aren't good, and the plot is shaky at best. I am just over halfway through the book, and by now we should know the characters well and be invested in them, and we should be swept along with the plot. Unfortunately, all the characters are two-dimensional, and we're still stuck with the basic plot summary, without actually getting into the plot and developing story. The only thing that seems to be trying to be developed in this book is the "EWWWWW!! CORPORATIONS ARE ICKY AND EVIL!!!!!!!!!" phrase that is nauseously repeated multiple times already in the first half of the book. I surmise, but am not making any accusations, that this book was the result of someone saying "oh, we need to hate companies cause they don't exist to lose money, and I need to show I fit in with today's climate." I ordered this on B&N preorder, fully paid for, but sadly, I'm just not sure I will trust purchasing any more books by RR. But I can always reread the Percy Jackson saga :D.
