We are a military family and our kids' friends are always moving away or we are, and sometimes my kids feel lonely and sad. This book was a great way to show they are not alone, and their feelings are reasonable. It also gives positive practice to help be proactive and solve the problem.
My family and I enjoyed this book because it is timely due to remote learning, but it also shows how loneliness can happen when others are around too. The SAVE strategy is one that my children could internalize and they give suggestions that each person can adapt to their likes, to who they are. We loved this book. Plus, who doesn’t need to build their social-emotional ninja skills!
