Disappointing

The book felt like an outline rather than a novel. The characters didn’t do much other than go from point to point. The other books in the series were much better. This one seemed more like the author needed to wrap up the plotlines than he wanted to tell the tale. Overall it was a disappointment.

But it needed more on the mysteries that surrounded the former messenger. I think if connections could be made with the former messenger and a better underlying cause for the enemy wizards to connect the two events it would’ve flowed better. The ending didn’t close the story well.

This was an enjoyable finish to the series. This is a series book, it reads better as the fifth than the first. Nice that the author doesn’t rehash things each book. Everything wrapped up, no loose ends.

The story is excellent example of magic, swords, mysteries and good story telling. The main character is a likeable fellow and the friends made along the way are unique.
