Another winner from Alice Winters!

Alice Winters does it again. She's created a wild, wacky, wonderful world that I had no trouble getting lost in! I really love her brand of story-telling. The world building in Nixing the End of the World is outstanding, the characters fun and engaging, and the story completely entertaining.
Nixing the End of the World introduces us to another delightful cast of characters. Unlike some of her other couples, a la Felix & Lane, Jackson & Leland, and Finn & Marcus, there really isn't a "straight" guy when it comes to Nix and Alastair- they are both wonderfully ridiculous in their own ways and I adored them both so much. The secondary characters were equally amazing as well, especially Nix's best friend Annie, and his parents. And let's not forget Purrcival and Elderon! There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, thanks to them all.
This amusing crew is brought together to help Nix save the world...something he had no idea he was capable of, nor why he's now needed. Being the savior of the world isn't all it's cracked up to be, though, as Nix soon finds out. Trouble and fun and antics abound, as Nix and his merry band of misfits race to save the world, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm so glad this is going to be a series, I'm not ready for the fun to end! I liked the way this story kind of wrapped up with a HFN, but gives us that "to be continued..." feel, without leaving us on the edge of our sets as we wait for the next installment.
*If you got a little Tales From Verania vibes from this story, you are not alone! That is one of my favorite series of all time and it was fun to read something similar.
