I like it when there is a new character is added to a series of books. The Bear is a great addition. Along with another one added. You'd think its an unlikely team but they work it out. Unforseen circumstances are a great surprise. A very good read.

Too much “shuck’n”, too many name changes but

It was an interesting story once you get past the repeated parts of the story and the author’s over attempt to be “cowboy cool”. The use of only a character’s first name in one paragraph then the use of only that same character’s last name in the next paragraph was very tiring and redundant. It seemed like maybe the author was having difficulty remembering his characters or in big hurry to get book finished…or two authors not knowing what they each wrote?
What happened to “proof-readers”?

I like the character and the stories but these books are very oddly written. There are quite a lot of modern euphamisms used and the stories bounce around weirdly. A storyline that seems interesting will just suddenly end without any information and pick up weeks or months later. Its an odd way to write or tell a story and makes it quite difficult to keep any continuity.

Good story! But…
A revolver has a “grip” or a “butt” where notches are carved! A coffee pot or a hoe has a “handle” - not very authentic in this regard!

Toward the end story line duplicated paragraphs and where characters seemed to be got a bit muddled.
But I’m not a writer-I’m the reader…looks like,to me, a
re-read might be called for and justified.
