I waited a few months to start getting my monthly books titled Elevator Girl purposely so I could read several months and it has not disappointed. Yikes !!! Virginia thought she was doing the smart thing by taking that elevator and arriving at the lounge via the back door but Oh my you will not believe what she steps into. Not spoiling it you must read to find out. A tad bit nervous about book 2 but moving on … Love Stephanie Bond and all her books .
Elevator Girl is a daily serial and each day from July through December unfolds a little at a time. Part 1 is July. This is a fun way to read a book. Virginia is down on her luck but finally gets a job as an Elevator Girl at the Corona Hotel which has a 70’s theme. She meets a ghost, Eloise who was a former Elevator Girl but who died in the hotel. Virginia is curious and begins to ask questions. This is an enjoyable serial.
So glad it is July 1st and once again Stephanie Bond has conjured a character who is behind the scenes and working hard to make a better life for herself. Virginia needed a job and took on being an elevator operator in a 70s Atlanta hotel that has seen better days. As part of her compensation, she lives in the hotel and maybe she has seen a ghost on her floor -- or maybe not? Her past comes to haunt her at times. She contacts Jack Terry (who is wearing a wedding ring) to look into a murder that occurred at the hotel many years ago. Lots of moving parts -- always delightful writing! Looking forward to August 1st and the next piece of the puzzle.
Virginia after being cheated on, finds herself out of a job. Living with friends what's a girl to do, pawning a few things is a temp fix for cash. Finally get a job at a old 70's vibe hotel, as an Elevator Girl, with lodging included it seems like a good start. Did I mention this hotel is slightly haunted.. Excellent read, this serial of off to a very mysterious start and that was only July. Can't wait to get August. I highly recommend this serial, with Stephanie Bond, you won't be disappointed.
Short stories can be fun when done correctly. This is off to a good start. I loved the 70's. Great times were had. The clothes were fun. The decor....well it was loud. This storyline is fun but intriguing. Let's see what happened to Eloise.
This is a very short story about a girl named Virginia who when to college for a degree in hospitality and with the pandemic only could find a job as an elevator girl. She see a ghost who was the old elevator girl and the mystery begins.
Another hit for Bond's "Girl" serials... This one takes me back to my childhood. It's a mystery, a ghost story, another damsel in distress. Even though Bond has a formula, it works. I've enjoyed them all and this one is no exception.
So happy that Bond has decided to write another series. Off to a good start. Fresh character who is very believable. I like the idea of a good story and perhaps a bit of time travel. Only problem is waiting for next installment
Stephanie Bond always has something interesting to say. Personally I can’t wait for daily episodes, so I always get the monthly ones. We see a little time travel and a ghost in this story, but I bet that all will end well.
I have read several of Stephanie’s 6-part stories and have been entertained by all. Her writing flows smoothly and keeps me engrossed in the story. Her full length novels are just as entertaining. I can’t wait for the next installment.
