How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsIt's another good addition to the series.
Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2021
I've liked all of the Black Tide Rising series and get each of them when they come out. The anthology books fill in some of the points not covered in the original Ringo books, there's something for everyone. There's a few "during" the Fall stories (after too) and some not set in the U.S. The Canadian story was good and some of the stories were related to previous anthology titles. What's left of the U.S. space program even manages a last second science satellite launch using parts of three rockets ( one from SpaceX) to salvage a never again opportunity to study a passing "half baby planet/ half super comet".
"Wolf Squadron" ,Tom and Steve Smith are mentioned but not present, and that's about it for the Smith family. I'm hoping for more of Faith and Sophia, maybe there will be another book and they'll get their turn.
Worth reading even though i still like the original series best.

The best of the stories were the ones that continued the fight the zombie to survive. The stories about starting new after the zombie were taken care of were so so, dumb or depressing. I mean you are still fighting to provide safety, food and medical care, and we have a bunch of the"brightest people" putting that aside to send a rocket to an asteroid. Dumb!

It gets severely weird in here when Just ONE of the contributing authors here starts hitting the keyboard (or pen, quill, etc.); when they ALL jump in the deep end of the pool, all you can do is hang on to the tiger's ears and hope the cat is up to his usual high standards.
He is.
And that's ALL the spoilers you'll are getting from me. Go read the book.

I have to admit I’m not a fan of short story collections. Usually the styles and the content are too varied for me to enjoy. I took a chance here and I’m totally blown away by how rewarding it was.

First off, the main theme of rebuilding was stuck to by each writer, but was done so in really interesting styles, settings, and contexts, while all staying really faithfully true to the original tail that it seemed like they were all just little vignettes from the world Ringo created. Which is, of course, what we all became fans of to start with.

Second, none of the stories were the predictable, “I see it coming from a mile away”, kind of fare that short stories can often become. This is just really good story telling. I’d dare say, real honest craftsmanship. It’s obvious that the writers spent time creating and polishing the tales they told, before submitting them.

Bravo! That was fun!

Given a little power humans seek to increase it. Often by any means neccessary.
There is an oft quoted statement, "Never let a crisis go to waste."
The people trusted most to handle crisis are under a tremendous strain. They have been given power and in a crisis mistakes are overlooked for "The Greater Good."
Keeping the crisis going means the mistakes are never dealt with and in time become the standard.
We can continue to cower before the authorities or remove their power to control us.

1.0 out of 5 stars TThis Compilation belongs in Amazon's .99 cent Bin.

There are no quality stories whatsoever in this collection. No moderately interesting nor entertaining tales. John Ringo
has truly jumped the shark in putting his name on this collection. In all honesty I too harsh on the .99 cent Amazon beginners writers comparison. The majority of beginning writers put out better work than this. I'll take a hard pass with anything with John Ringo
'S name on it.

As with many anthologies, some of the tales are very good and others are a waste of paper (or electrons in this case).

An Excellent Story. I enjoyed this Series very much. I like all the different views that you can look at a Zombie Apocalypse. There are so many ideas of ways and outlooks on the Subject, and so many Writers that have approached this Subject in different ways. This group of writers are among the best.

It’s well done though it jumps place to place with each new story. I enjoyed each story separately. Did not feel I couldn’t put it down, so light reading…

Many good tales of fighting against the darkness of the Zombie Apocalypse, and
ordinary folk finding ways to bring the beginnings of a restoration of civilization.
