Camera is easy to install, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Product claims to be "high resolution" but the picture is anything but! Could be there's some adjustment for improving the very fuzzy look, but the tiny instruction pamphlet gives no hint as to what that adjustment could be.

Very poor quality, I had a similar camera that went out and I tried to replace it with this one that looked identical. The quality is horrible, the image is very pixelated, doesn't pick up accurate colors, and obscures colors and images. Either too bright or too dark, and even when focusing the image, it is not as clear as my previous camera. Sending it back.

Works immediately after just plugging it in. Tried both Window 10 or an Ubuntu 16.x machines, no issues. For the image quality, please check the attached picture, it was taken while the camera is on top of the monitor about 2 feet in front of me. The default image size captured is 640x360. I could not find a way to adjust anything in the default camera applications. I also made video recordings, they are:
- Vp8 encoded
- resolution of 640x360
- frame rate of 25
- BT601 color range
- Audio is Mono 44100, 80kb/s.

I did not find any ways to make the resolution any higher, while the device description states 1080p, that should be 1920x1080, while I only get 640x360. The camera applications should be able to adjust the resolution, but the only listed value is 640x360 on my side.

The audio is described as dual microphone, that seems false, it only records mono audio. I could not find a way to adjust this either.

The other incorrect detail in the listing is: "This external webcam includes a 5ft USB-A cable - uses USB-C connection". The cable is attached to the camera, the other end is USB-A. There is absolutely noting USB-C on this device.

The focus is manually adjustable, works well. All in all, this camera works better than my previous cheap webcams, the image had wide enough angle, the brightness is fine. I would be only disappointed if I was looking for a camera based on the description, as the text seems to be inaccurate about the details.

UPDATE:
On Windows, I can adjust the options in the camera application to increase the resolution to up to 1080p 25 fps. Adding back the 4th star of the rating. Unfortunately, I could not find a similar solution yet for ubuntu for my team meetings.

Talk about value! For the price, I think this camera is fantastic! I’ve been using my laptop camera for well over a year for my company meetings and presentations, but this well-priced camera performed solidly. I was initially a bit skeptical of the quality given the price, but I was surprised by the video quality, the ease of use, and the versatility. Plus I was not sure if my company laptop, which has a very stringent policy about external devices and Web access, would allow for non-company sanctioned device to work, but to my surprise, it worked without any issues. It was almost plug and play. No software to install or download.

The camera sits on top of my monitor balanced by a counter weight, so I would not say this camera placement is most secure, but with my standing desk going up and down, it does not seem to affect its placement or performance.

Now about the vid quality. My laptop camera required plenty of lighting to a point where I had to install a computer desk lamp to brighten the room in addition to the overhead light and the natural light from my window. But this camera, I realized, I can turn the desk lamp off and is able to pick up the necessary light to make my presence on the screen vivid and crisp. I am sure there are much better cameras in the market, but for well under $20 USD, I think this camera is a bargain. I won’t be disappointed if I had to pay for this camera given the quality and the ease of use.

I think this camera is a hidden gem, and if you are looking for a value camera, this may be a good fit for you.
