This is my first time reading Lea Coll and I'm in love. I haven't read the first book in this series, but I fully intend to.
Henry has lived in Telluride Colorado, all his life. He owns a lodge on his family's ranch, that he's hoping will save the family ranch from being sold. When his best friend Grey, from college, decides to have his wedding at the lodge, he's not sure how it will turn out. He never really thought about being an event planner his goal is to offer extreme adventures.
Kelsey, works on the stock exchange and is Elle, the bride's, best friend and maid of honor. She falls in love with Telluride. She's always knew something was missing from her life, but trust will never come easy for her.
When Grey asks Henry to entertain Kelsey the attraction is so strong that they finally give in, but Henry has been hurt one to many times just like Kelsey, and will only agree to have a fling. The only problem is that somewhere along the way feelings start to develop as they both find that they need someone to confide in.
This is a happy-ever-after that you don't want to miss. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Adventurous Love is a fantastic read. I could not get enough of Henry and Kelsey. Henry is the best friend of Gray and always wanted the ranch life. He is in charge of the lodges on his parents property. Kelsey is an old childhood friend of Elle who is reconnecting and taking a break from her hectic life. You feel the instant connection and the fight they have for each other from the very start. I love how Henry takes Kelsey out of her comfort zone and takes her on all this big adventures. Kelsey just jumps right in giving Henry all kinds of ideas for drawing more people to his lodge. For two that are anti relationship and anti long distance there is something so special about them that draws you in and doesn't let go. I loved every moment of this one and cannot wait for more to come from the Mountain Haven series.
Kelsey and Henry are absolutely adorable! I relate to Kelsey's independence as I too rely mostly on myself, however hers is from her relationship with her parents. I broke when she talked about her relationship with them and her expectations of them in her life. Kelsey has a huge heart and definitely deserves more than her parents gave her.
Henry insecurities and fears stemmed from his past relationships making his time with Kelsey short, fun, and easy. However as we all know, life doesn't go according to plan, and Henry's plan for Kelsey went haywire.
The scenes where Kelsey went adventuring were my absolute favorite and made me want to go on a hike in the mountains immediately. However I live in Florida so that is not easy lol. I cannot wait for Piper's story!
Kelsey's in Telluride for her friend's wedding, knowing that this will be a short stay, then back to her life in New York. Then Henry happens to her - the rugged guy so opposite of her, whose important priorities are his lodge, his town, and definitely not a relationship with a city girl whose time in his town has a definite expiration date.
Kelsey and Henry fell for each other in a very short amount of time, and they were sweet and adorable together. Though the inevitable goodbye happened, while they were together, they were so sweet together, and even sweeter when they found their way back to each other. I haven't read the first story in this series, but I definitely plan on reading any new ones coming, because I loved this one.
Lea Coll knows how to write great romance. Her characters are filled with heart and soul. Kelsey is a little bit broken from the experiences of her childhood. That has not stopped her from being a successful adult. Henry is a small town guy looking to continue his family traditions. After a hot and steamy weak and half love is on the menu.
I went on an adventurous journey with Kelsey and Henry while reading this book. A small town romance with so much depth and love in it. Kelsey rekindled her friendship with Elle, who we met in the previous book Infamous Love. While this book can easily read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them both, you're missing out on a great book if you don't. When her best friend gets married, Kelsey takes a week and a half of work and her busy life in New York, to help her friend. What she wasn't counting on, was having a very handsome mountain man in charge of showing her around. Henry was expecting anything else, but not a woman like Kelsey when informed about Elles friend. With preconceptions about city girls, Kelsey was a pleasant surprise, making him wonder if he could wish for more. I loved Kelseys character, Laura wrote a strong independent woman, she hides a deep hurt, but it's determined to not let her past, or circumstances, hold her down. She has a heart of gold, even if she keeps some people at length, the ones she let in, have her full devotion and she doesn't hold grudges.
"He was filling my cracked heart with care and love, making me think I could have more."
This line made my heart ache for her, she was so determined that she's not worthy of asking for more. I'm glad in the end she was strong enough to take the decision based on her own needs, regardless of what anyone else thought.
Henry...I wanted his happy ending ever since meeting him . I loved what he built and his dedication for the family business. But for such a brilliant guy he sure was stupid sometimes. What I loved about how Laura wrote Henry, is that even though he is a male character, he has weaknesses and doubts, I like reading about a man that struggles with making something successful and is not afraid to listen to a woman's input.
Then there's that sizzling hot chemistry 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. They try at first to resist the attraction, but it gets impossible, the more adventures they go on, and get to know each other. The time they do spend naked together, is of the charts hot!!!! It's pretty obvious they were meant to be together, even they think they'd be perfect together. But asking someone to make a life changing decisions, they're not ready for that. I don't usually enjoy relationships/love that are born in the space of a few days, but Laura managed to so perfectly stage everything, and the dual pov really helped understand how in such a short time, they developed such strong feelings.
Henry and Kelsey meet because they are standing up in their best friends’ wedding. Kelsey comes Telluride from New York to help her friend, Elle, plan her wedding. When she and Henry meet sparks fly between them and they both wonder if there might be something there, but Kelsey is only in Telluride for two weeks and Henry doesn’t seem interested in a fling. Somehow though, they are just drawn to each other and the more time spent together it is just inevitable. Henry shows her all around Telluride and takes her for many fun adventures that Kelsey (who isn’t really adventurous) loves and wants more of. She feels safe with him and embraces this new side of herself and he continues to find more for them to do all the while drawing them closer.
Due to baggage in their pasts, both of them have major trust issues and don’t see relationships in their futures, but watching their friend’s happiness and spending more time together begin to thaw these feelings. Kelsey’s past is really heartbreaking and we find out that she has a lot to overcome but with Henry’s warmth, she is beginning to hope for more. Henry is more frustrating because he was hurt as a teen and lives in a vacation spot so he doesn’t think that women want him for good, just for flings. He wants Kelsey but he fights it hard and does the guy thing where he makes the decision that he’s isn’t good enough for her so he pushes her away. He eventually gets his head on straight with the help of his friend Gray and his dad, but his journey is frustrating because he fights himself instead of fighting FOR Kelsey. Thank goodness he figures it out and goes for what he wants!
I have never been to Telluride and am not adventurous but the way that everything is described, I would love to spend some time visiting the beauty of the Colorado mountains that gave this story a gorgeous backdrop. I think the setting was almost as big a character of this story as Henry and Kelsey and that is alot for this warm weather beach loving girl! Can’t wait to read more!
Adventurous Love by Lea Coll is the second book in the Mountain Haven series and we meet Kelsey and Henry in small town Telluride, Colorado. I absolutely loved and devoured this book. It's the beautiful love story of Kelsey (the city girl) and Henry (the hot mountain man) and can be read as a standalone. They are both so different coming from different backgrounds…. but you know what they say? Opposites attract! Kelsey takes time off and comes to Telluride for her best friend Elle's wedding (whom we met on Infamous Love) knowing that this will be a short stay, then back to her life in New York. The backdrop for this story is beautifully set up by the author with its mountains, the snow and the landscapes. Kelsey and Henry connect instantly, Henry agrees to show her what life was all about living there. The places described by the author for activities and sightseeing was breathtaking and spectacular, I could actually visualize being there. The ice climbing, the helicopter ride, the Ghost town are only just a few places Henry showed her. Henry and Kelsey may be thrown together because their best man and maid of honour duties require it, but they stay together constantly because they want to enjoy every moment. Both of them had their reasons for not giving in to their mutual attraction but Kelsey’s was definitely the more heartbreaking of the two. They both have deep wounds in their hearts, and souls, but sometimes the right person can heal those things while you aren’t even paying attention. Adventurous Love takes you on spellbinding journey you will never forget from the beautiful love story between two unsuspecting characters to the beautiful sights Telluride Colorado has to offer. These two are so utterly perfect for each other! You will fall so deeply in this story. If you love small town , opposite attract stories, this one is for you. Highly recommended with five awesome stars.
Adventurous Love (Mountain Have Book 2) by Lea Coll has written a wonderful romance with all the feels of both protagonists full of longing and yearning. If any two characters were meant to be, it would absolutely be Henry and Kelsey. They are two peas in a pod, both impacted negatively by their pasts, youth. These impacts are quite different, but the results are quite similar bringing home the fact that these two need each other to heal and thrive and live their best, complete lives. The plot for this love story provides Henry and Kelsey a very solid start through tasking risks in adventurous outings, building a foundation of friendship and trust. Even when they don’t believe anything can come of it, deep and abiding connections form that will not be denied. While their chemistry is off the charts, Henry and Kelsey feel themselves drawn to one another beyond their physical attraction. I truly loved the ebb and flow of this romance journey. The interactions as well as inner dialogue through self reflections and questioning begins to pave the way and this author takes these characters through their paces to realization, acceptance and resolution. Another thing I love about this book and the series is the setting. Telluride sounds amazing, beautiful and exciting, giving the characters plenty to see and do, creating magical moments of exploration of every kind. Overall, Lea Coll has developed yet another amazing couple with emotional depth and an engaging storyline that all combined captivates the reader. This was a magical adventure made extra special by Elle and Gray’s wedding and gender reveal, but does not outshine the much deserved HEA of Kelsey and Henry by any means. Definitely a 5 star read! I read an ARC of this book via Grey’s Promotions and voluntarily share my review.
Kelsey Turner lost touch with her childhood friend Elle when Elle signed on to star in a reality TV series, but they reconnected after Elle quit the show and moved to Telluride, Colorado. Now engaged and expecting her first child, Elle asks Kelsey to be her maid of honor and invites her to Telluride to help her prepare for the wedding. When she arrives in Colorado, Kelsey learns that she will be working closely with the best man, Henry Rigby, who owns the lodge where the wedding will take place. Henry has also agreed to show Kelsey around town since Elle's pregnancy means that she is unable to go skiing or participate in many other outdoor activities. Henry and Kelsey are attracted to each other at first sight, but know that getting involved would be a bad idea because of their mutual friends. Still, the more time they spend together, the more difficult it is to resist giving into their feelings.
Both Henry and Kelsey had a lot of baggage from the past that they needed to work through, but I really liked them as a couple and thought they brought out the best in each other. Henry helped Kelsey rediscover her adventurous side and also made her feel seen, safe, and supported. In return, Kelsey helped Henry remember who he was and the dreams he used to have before his ex-girlfriend broke his heart.
Overall, "Adventurous Love" was a fast-paced, sometimes emotional, but ultimately satisfying read. I enjoyed and would recommend this book for all fans of emotional contemporary romance. I look forward to reading Henry's sister Piper's story next.
