Non Existant Character Development and Repetitive Story Line
Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019
I started out loving these books. But come on, after 40 pages into book 5 all I can recommend to a potential reader is, don't get sucked in.
And to the auther, if this is all you got, just stop writing. None of your characters ever evolve. That's not a tragic flaw of the characters, it's a flawed author. It's difficult to stomach reading a story in which the characters are forever falling victim to the same, misguided, inner strugles.
It's like reading the same story over and over again. Basically, it reads as though you, the author has run out of ideas and is being paid by the word.
Great story othetwise. Great angle, love the archaeology tie in. The science is weak, the fighting painfully inaccurate and the story meanders and never ends. The story that rambles drunkenly through these 5 books could have been told succinctly in 1. Maybe a trilogy but no more.
