Get the sample, read it, and if it doesn't make your mind wander or body yawn, then you should probably get it. I think my biggest issue was that it always felt like the author thought we knew all the background details of his world when honestly, I was just bored.

Fun premise, unbearable execution.

Fantasy reincarnation books are neat! So are revenge plots! But the MC is so incredibly sexist. The first few chapters are a mess of "what is a woman doing here" "given a bit of energy, this woman is beautiful" "so strong! Okay okay, you are my woman now" etc.

The dialogue, too, is uninspired, with the woman that the MC first meets constantly repeating already answered questions, keeping dialogue progression to the MC, though she's supposed to be intelligent.

The little magic seen in the first few chapters is used to revivify both characters- which apparently is an arousing experience for the companion, and is used for that purpose even after she's said not to touch her. So even the magic is focused on the eyecandy side of things.

I just can't.

The MC is a reincarnated mage who returns in the body of a thief who died in prison 30 years after his demise. Gaining his freedom fromthe jail, with the help of the thief's also incarcerated gf/partner he sets out to find out who betrayed him to the emperor and put his allies to the sword. He must carefully cultivate his mana, get stronger, build new alliances and put plans in place to take revenge on the emperor and his entrenched supporters. Overall a pretty good story. It was very interesting that the MC took some quality time to explore the bottom of a lake with his gf inside a mana sphere, lets call it a magic imbued scuba diving excursion. This, along with some other scenes gave the story balance as it reminds us to always take some quality time to smell the roses along the journey of life. Looking forward to reading the next installment of the series.

I was looking for a book that had a little bit more meat to it than my usual fare. I'm always cautiously optimistic when reading something from an author that is new to me. This gentleman's book was almost exactly what I was looking for. I tend to go easy on the first and last book of any series when reviewing it. Beginnings can be such a shaky things and if a series makes it to a proper ending that Dismount can be a real mother. With that said I think this author did a fantastic job and I would recommend this book anybody looking for something new and interesting.

Slow starting but with character development not expected to be so subtle. Enjoyable reading with breaks only taken for necessary items that must occur within life. Too much time spent upon describing weakness, but it seems to point to a major plot point needed to hook the reader into wanting to discover more. Tantalizing threads of betrayal linger to await discovery of thrusting a dagger into the background to spring forth out of the shadows. WHEN will it appear? Why must wait for the continuation by the publisher? I blame them for this agony of having to await the upcoming serial saga of life.

This is an enjoyable story that I want to see more of. The MC is a bit OP but is still challenged by his opponents, the harem element doesn't overwhelm the story, and the primary characters aren't cardboard cutouts. More, please.

I wanted to strangle the MC early on. In general not a nice person when he reincarnated, but over the course of the book he started to redeem himself a bit and I look forward to the story continuing and him becoming a better person. The hints of backstory and history that are coming out are interesting and I hope to see this developed more in future books.

This is similar in initial plot to many books I've read, but seems to hit different points as it progresses. The main characters are well designed and more realistic than most, and struggle hard. The finish of the book left me knowing the adventure continued, but not feeling like the story was unfinished. I look forward to the next in the series.

The main is a reborn who had pretty selfish and maybe even evil intent but quickly comes to the realization that maybe this time around he should try to use less selfish methods and actually help people while growing in power.
