A lot of great content, but one teaching could potentially ruin people's lives

Initially, I really loved this book. I realized that it was actually really bad for me, and it wasn't actually biblically correct in one teaching in particular. Gary Thomas teaches that you should be able to discern who you should marry by your own power, but this completely puts the Holy Spirit's leading out of the equation.

I would recommend this book to lukewarm Christians who don't care about doing God's will. But if you actually care about doing God's will and you believe that God still speaks today, please be wary when reading this book. Yes, there is a worldly wisdom to choosing a spouse, but we should really seek the Holy Spirit to give us confirmation on who we marry. Let God be our match maker.
